[00:00:18] Speaker A: The hunter is the first line of defense between the natural world and the supernatural. Armed with wits, experience, and whatever tools they can get their hands on, the hunter throws themselves into the fray. When darkness arises, they shield the general public from these hordes. They sacrifice themselves for the cause, though that's not always the plan. Sometimes they go out looking for trouble, and sometimes trouble finds them. Such is the case with Auer Cell, who have found themselves in the midst of an investigative job, digging into the mystery of a strange fish like deformity out of a small coastal town. They found small information here and there, and their last lead left them with a feeling of observation upon themselves. All signs seem to point to the island just off the coast as the sun dips below the horizon. Unwilling to stay at the supplied inn in town due to precautionary purposes, we were all reconvening at the van after Keith and Felix check into the inn for public appearances. However, back at the van is where the real work will begin, as Keith will gear up with one of Felix's drones and whatever else the group sees fit as he tries to find a way over to the island for observational purposes. Reconnaissance, and getting back over before anything goes too horribly awry. Meeting back up at the van. We've already established that you want to get one of Felix's drones positioned over there in some high vantage point to observe everything. What else does the group want to try to send along over to the island? [00:02:02] Speaker B: I mean, as far as what I will carry. I'm going to put on my vest, I'm going to grab my shotgun, throw it over my back on a sling. I will bring the blade with me just because it seems like a time to have it. And then I will pack in my pistol as normal, and then I have extra slots available. [00:02:25] Speaker C: I have. [00:02:26] Speaker B: Oh, and I have the acid. [00:02:27] Speaker C: Right. [00:02:28] Speaker A: And the thermos of acid. [00:02:29] Speaker C: Yes, the acid. Can't forget that. Do we want to. And this might be more Smithy's area of expertise. I don't want to speak on something I don't really know anything about, but do you want to, like, maybe, like, hide some, like, firearms over there just in case we have to go back and we just want to make sure that we have weapons over there. [00:02:53] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, I have. I have shotguns in excess, so if we want to send a couple over with Keith, that makes plenty of sense to me. [00:03:07] Speaker C: Sweet. And then if it's possible, which I am asking God more as a player. Zach, my. The drones that I have, can I, like, compact Them just to, like, have another one on standby that can be accessed if necessary, but isn't in action. Like, can Wilbert or Henry, like, fold into something more carryable so Keith isn't, like, forced? [00:03:34] Speaker A: Wilbur himself is pretty. Is pretty compact already, based on the size. Henry can fold downward, but he would still need to be effectively wheeled. That or Keith would have an extraordinarily heavy backpack that he would have to maneuver with. You can't really account for changing weight when you change the size. [00:03:57] Speaker C: Okay, cool. [00:03:58] Speaker A: But it won't look like a giant robot being wheeled through town. [00:04:00] Speaker C: Well, I don't want to give Keith a heavy backpack, so I might just ask if it's okay for you, Keith, to just take Wilbur with you. Might be good to have a little floor drone there. But be careful. He's my son and shall not be harmed in transit. [00:04:16] Speaker B: Yeah, we can. We can certainly do that. You can also just. Is there any way you could wire up one of those GoPros to. You know, that's more of what I was thinking of, just slamming one of those in the trees. And to be perfectly honest with you, I appreciate Wilbur and all of his help, but I don't know how well the tiny wheels are gonna do on rocks, and he's just gonna get jammed in a tree anyway. So if you want me to, though, I can do that. [00:04:40] Speaker C: I look at Wilburt and I just whisper. It's not. It's not personal. Don't. It's okay. Yeah, no, I have. I have cameras. I can give you a couple of gopros if you want to do that instead. I'm pretty sure Wilbur can fly, though. Right. [00:04:58] Speaker B: Okay, well, then, yeah. [00:04:59] Speaker A: Let me take a quick look. I believe so. Yes. I think it has a bit of a hover, so it's not, like, extraordinarily high, but he has a bit of a hover off the ground compared to Henry, who walks. [00:05:14] Speaker C: Right. So take Wilwood just in case. Just in case we need him if he does go into action. I don't think it will be stealthy, but might just be good to have on that island already. But, yeah, I'll give you some GoPros. I think that idea is actually way smarter than mine. [00:05:33] Speaker A: Okay, so gearing up with all of these things, my understanding is that Vienna, Felix, and Smithy are going to wait in the van, perhaps monitoring via the cameras, via the drones of what's going on over there, while Keith is going to find a way over to the island. Keith, low tide has come and gone. So how are you planning to get to the island with all of these things? [00:06:03] Speaker B: Most of these. I'm gonna try and jam a hockey bag or something like that. As far as getting over there goes. There's somebody's like, how far away is this island, distance wise? [00:06:14] Speaker A: That is a great question. It's walkable. When the. When the low tide happens and the sandbar is down, it would. It is arguably swimmable, but again, you're gonna have a lot of things with you that will get wet. [00:06:31] Speaker B: I want a rowboat. Then if I can try and find a rowboat or something like that or a canoe or whatever, something that's low distance, low noise. [00:06:39] Speaker A: Let's have you do a wits and investigation roll for finding stuff. A reminder that your desperation dice is at 2 or at 2. At current, your danger level is 3. [00:06:56] Speaker B: That would be one success. [00:06:59] Speaker A: One success. There are a lot of boats at the stock, so you are able to find quite a few of them. The one that you can find that is the easiest to commandeer. It's not like locked up or requires you dragging it heavily across the dock. Over to it is a kayak. Looks like a single person kayak. It'll be a little bit off balance with the bag on you, but it's able to get over there. You're just not able to put something really in front of you the way you would a rowboat. [00:07:33] Speaker B: Is the rest of the group with me at this time too? [00:07:36] Speaker A: I believe they were staying at the van. [00:07:37] Speaker B: Okay. Well, I would be very tempted to bring it back and try to waterproof the thing, but do we have time? I wonder if we even have time for that. [00:07:47] Speaker A: My question is less if you have time and more of if you have the resources to do so. [00:07:52] Speaker B: Yeah. My thought for waterproofing was just trash bags, honestly. [00:07:56] Speaker A: Gotcha. [00:08:01] Speaker B: I think I would have. I think we would have thought about that before if we were going over water to put stuff in at least a Ziploc bag. [00:08:08] Speaker A: I will actually give you that point of logic. You already know that you have to go over water in some capacity. So I think it's reasonable to assume that you would want to make sure stuff doesn't get wet, especially if you're transporting high technology devices with you. Yeah, even the. Even the salty air can affect them sometimes. [00:08:29] Speaker B: Do we have a radio or something that we use to keep in contact? [00:08:33] Speaker A: Does anybody have walkie talkies? If not, then. If not, then the answer is going to be no. [00:08:44] Speaker B: That's fine. [00:08:45] Speaker A: However, Felix is monitoring via the drone. So once. So once the drone Is, you know, out visible or has camera view. Felix will be able to see what's going on. [00:08:59] Speaker C: Question. I have an electronics kit. Could I make shift walkie talkies? [00:09:07] Speaker A: Make me an intelligence and an intelligence and craft role for successes. I think that you're able to rig up a very basic. Just like it's an open frequency, so it's not something that could be secured. If anybody just happened to turn a radio to that frequency, they would hear you talking. But you're able to rig up with your various electronic kits something that you can talk back and forth over short distances. [00:09:44] Speaker C: This would work for the worst case scenario. [00:09:49] Speaker A: All right, well, Keith, with your kayak and your bag of tools, please make me a. Hmm. Going to call this stamina and athletics as you are rowing your way across the bay in the dinky little kayak, trying to keep balance. Kayaks are not the easiest thing, despite their appearances. [00:10:18] Speaker B: Let's go with six successes. [00:10:21] Speaker A: That is more than enough. Physicality is your strong suit, and you are able to slice rather silently through the water. On your way to Salt island, you get a little blip in your radio of like half a second of music as some stray frequency is picked up. But it goes away very, very quickly as you arrive at the island. Are you just going dead on front end of the island? Are you trying to like sneak around the side of the island? It's. It's an island. I'm just curious as to what your approach is. [00:10:57] Speaker B: What's the terrain like? [00:11:00] Speaker A: The terrain of the island is it's rocky and sandy all around the coastline, and then inside is very grassy with a lot of trees. It's not thick forest. You can have a pretty decent eye line when you're on the island. But mainly the edges of it are very rocky and craggy with a couple of little divots in them that might be caves, might just be holes in the side of the rock. [00:11:35] Speaker B: All right, I'm going to try to find somewhere shadowy or something like that to park the boat and then probably just start going inland and looking around. [00:11:43] Speaker A: Okay, great. So you row your way around the side and pull yourself up out of the kayak, pull the kayak up onto shore and walk on in. The island feels off to you. It's very, very still, very, very quiet on the island. And that feels uncomfortable for you. You can't quite put your finger on why it's uncomfortable, but it is. There doesn't seem to be much movement happening up here, though. [00:12:25] Speaker B: Am I very far into the island. [00:12:27] Speaker A: At this point or yes. The island itself is not large at all. You could cross it in probably about 20 minutes. [00:12:38] Speaker B: Okay. I do want to put a camera that is covering the approach of from the mainland. So, like, if you were directly straight shot it. That's looking out over the water and looking at the shoreline. [00:12:51] Speaker A: Okay. [00:12:52] Speaker B: Or where the sandbar is. [00:12:54] Speaker A: Yeah, that's easy enough to do. [00:12:56] Speaker B: Okay. After I place that, it's just going to be going inland and looking for things that are out of the ordinary. I'm mostly going to be silent on the radio because I think I know what. What I am looking for, which is just things that are odd. [00:13:10] Speaker A: All right, Are you looking just your standard tracking looking, or are you trying to sense the unnatural? [00:13:19] Speaker B: Let's go with sense. [00:13:20] Speaker A: Or can you sense the unnatural? [00:13:21] Speaker B: I do have sense the unnatural. So yes, I would like to do that as I am proceeding as well as looking for, like, spots where lots of feet have been or altars or whatever. Something that doesn't look quite natural. [00:13:37] Speaker A: Absolutely. Go ahead and make your whips and occult roll for me. [00:13:42] Speaker B: Okay. That is going to be six successes. Wow. [00:13:50] Speaker A: Wow. Do you have any perks attached to sensi unnatural that specify it down? [00:13:55] Speaker B: Hands free and vampires. [00:13:58] Speaker A: Hands free and vampires. All you. This whole island lights up for you. This stronger than it did in town. This is absolutely the place, whatever it is. And much to your chagrin, given the time of day, you feel that. It's a feeling that you could only really describe it as like a red feeling. That red feeling of vampiric energy as you sense around this area. [00:14:34] Speaker B: Starting to wish I brought dragonfire rounds. Okay. All right. [00:14:39] Speaker A: Again, you can't pinpoint where it is with what you have, but you do know that you are much closer to it here than you were back in town. [00:14:48] Speaker B: All right. I am definitely readying my shotgun at that because I know how fast they are. [00:14:55] Speaker A: Absolutely. Could you go ahead and make me a whips and awareness role? [00:15:02] Speaker B: Absolutely. Three successes. [00:15:08] Speaker A: Three successes. It takes you a bit to see this as you're stalking around, keeping caution because you are inland. But as you make your way more out towards the edge, this is when it finally kicks in and you see something across the bay. Back on the mainland. Back on the beach, you see lights, a lot of lights. It looks like from here, you can't quite tell if it's flashlights or actual torches, but there's a lot of moving light on the beach. And it's moving from the beach in to town. In particular, it looks like it's actually going towards the good Harbor Inn. [00:16:00] Speaker B: Shit. I'll just get on the radio and let the rest of the team know they're unwelcome guests headed your way. [00:16:09] Speaker A: All right, now to the three of you. You did not choose to stay at the Good Harbor Inn. You chose to stay in the van. But where did you park the van? Did you still park it near the inn, or did you park it somewhere else along the bay? [00:16:28] Speaker D: I would have taken it just on the outskirts of town. I would like to be close enough to the town that we could get back into it if we needed to. But based on what Zad was saying, I would not at all want to be inside the town tonight. [00:16:43] Speaker A: Fair enough. Yeah, you would have to be enough still in town for this for that level of frequency to be reached. But, yeah, you're not, like, you're not right on the beach or anything. Yeah, but you all get crackly. This message from Keith, Felix, as you are checking your screen and seeing and seeing the, like, the. Just the camera setup. You can't really see much distance wise from where the camera is set up, so you can't see all the way to the mainland coast, but you do see some, like, bright light over across the water. That camera is going to mostly come into effect when you get closer to the island where the drone is positioned. [00:17:31] Speaker C: Got it. And we've been alerted by Keith. I'm assuming now, that something's heading our way. [00:17:37] Speaker A: Yes. [00:17:40] Speaker C: Frick. All right, guys, game plan for me. I feel like not being here is a great way to approach this, but let me know if you guys have other ideas. [00:17:55] Speaker E: We shouldn't leave the van unattended. I'm thinking I could hide under all Smithy's cans over there, see what they're looking for. Maybe if worse comes worst, I get in front and put foot on the gas, run them over. Give us all a chance to run. [00:18:15] Speaker D: I mean, we have guns. We can use guns. [00:18:20] Speaker E: Yeah, I had training when I was in the government, but I'm not good with them. [00:18:24] Speaker C: That's. [00:18:24] Speaker E: That's you. [00:18:28] Speaker C: All right, so we have somebody who's driving, somebody who can use guns, and I have a gun that I can throw into this metaphorical mix of murder and mayhem. So that could work. I like the idea of hiding first to see if we can actually over power them, because I have a feeling we might not be able to. [00:18:54] Speaker A: I will also remind you, Felix, that Henry has a brawl skill attached to him. [00:19:03] Speaker C: He does? [00:19:04] Speaker A: Yes. [00:19:05] Speaker C: I love him so much. I will. Okay, perfect. I think we should set up Henry not like As a decoy, necessarily. He can still be in the shadows. [00:19:16] Speaker E: But the driver's seat, I'd say, like, just put him in the driver's seat. Hoodie on, app down. Like he's taking. [00:19:23] Speaker C: Exactly. He. He could be a good distraction that we need to. To overwhelm them. So, yeah, let's do that quickly. Smoothie, can you help me carry Henry up front? [00:19:40] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can do that. [00:19:45] Speaker A: All right, so just to clarify, none of you are actually advancing into town. You are setting up where you are and keeping watch? [00:19:55] Speaker D: Yeah. My thought was if Keith reported that we have, you know, unfriendlies incoming, theoretically that would mean that they're heading towards us, but if they're just heading into town, I am totally fine being here at a distance where we can kind of see what is going on and then make adjustments to the plan. [00:20:20] Speaker A: Fair enough. In which case, I need someone, slash, anyone, whoever wants to, to make me a wits and awareness roll. If you have anything to enhance your vision, tools to enhance your vision, binoculars, other scopes, et cetera, let me know and that will change how many dice you can roll, but otherwise make a whipsun awareness roll as you stay on the lookout. [00:20:45] Speaker C: Do you have an X scope? Is a scope, right? [00:20:50] Speaker A: X scope is a very particular thing. It determines if something is living or dead. It looks for heartbeat, respiration, et cetera. So you would be able to get a better sense of what you are seeing, but it wouldn't help you look farther. [00:21:05] Speaker C: Okay, cool. I will still use it because I feel like it might be good to know if those are, like, fish people coming or like normal people. [00:21:13] Speaker A: Okay, great. So then your role is going to specifically be based on that, and I need you to make a wits and technology role instead of a whips and awareness role. [00:21:23] Speaker C: Got it. [00:21:25] Speaker D: And I got four successes on my roll. I don't have anything special. [00:21:30] Speaker A: Okay, four successes from Smithy. Vienna, Are you doing a Witson awareness role as well, or are you leaving it up to Smithy to keep lookout? [00:21:39] Speaker E: We got two pairs of eyes out. I'm going to camouflage myself into the general mess of the car. [00:21:45] Speaker A: Okay, fair enough. And, Felix, what did you get with your role? [00:21:50] Speaker C: I got five successes. [00:21:52] Speaker A: Excellent. Smithy. As you look out, trying to keep watch for people that are coming, you start to see the dancing lights that are happening in town, though they don't look like they're heading in your direction. They look like they're heading towards the inn where Felix and Keith had checked in earlier. Checked in, but of course, didn't Stay there as Felix is with you and Keith is across the bay. They are heading in that direction. You, of course, are across the beach from the Good harbor innovation, given where you said you were. So you are not able to truly see who is in the group, but there are a group of people or something with lights of some kind. Again, flashlight or torch, it's hard to tell. And this group, mob, whatever have you, is going towards the inn. Felix, you are able to use your X scope to. To reach out and you are getting mixed results. You are getting a lot of readings of heartbeat, respiration and body heat. And then you are getting some that are off that are missing one or the other. Some of them have heartbeat and body warmth, but not respiration. Some of them don't have body warmth but have the others. Some things are missing. So you're getting a mix of what seems to be standard living entity and not in this group. In order to get a clearer view of what you are dealing with, you are going to have to find a way to get a better vantage point. Whether that is closer or with better scoping. [00:23:49] Speaker C: I. Fuck. So, plan. What if I send Henry a little closer? I can see through Henry and if they attack Henry, as much as it will hurt me, it won't be one of us who potentially gets killed. Any objections? [00:24:20] Speaker D: They're your robots. [00:24:21] Speaker C: Okay, cool. I will. I will see if Henry can get closer so we can get a better look. And maybe we should. Also, since they're targeting the inn and they're coming from the island, I'm not sure if the plan was to meet up with Keith again, but we might want to join him on that island while we know that less people are there for the time being, but let me know how that sounds. [00:24:49] Speaker A: Well, while Henry is being set up. Keith, what are you doing? Are you heading back to shore to regroup with your friends or are you staying posted on the island hoping that they make it? [00:25:02] Speaker B: Have I looked? You said I was basically at the back of it by the point that I saw that. Or. [00:25:10] Speaker A: Yes, you'd walked around the island and made it back towards the front of the island that faces the mainland by the time you saw that. [00:25:18] Speaker B: Gotcha. So I didn't see anything else though that would be worth putting a camera up to look at. [00:25:25] Speaker A: Nope. You have walked to the surface of the island and you were not seeing anything up here. [00:25:30] Speaker B: Did I see any caves or anything while I was back there? [00:25:32] Speaker A: Any large caves I did mention on your way in, right? Attack, like on the water? There are several like Inlets that some of them may just be like large divots and holes and some of them might be caves. [00:25:45] Speaker B: I think. I think I definitely want to throw those cameras. Looking at those. If I only have like two or three, and then I'm gonna head back. [00:25:54] Speaker A: Okay, great. So you can set a couple of those up and you're gonna start to kayak back. I assume you're just going to go somewhere on the beach that isn't right next to the inn. [00:26:07] Speaker B: Oh, shoot. I had the bag of guns too. [00:26:10] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes. That is up to you. If you choose to leave any of the guns here for retrieval later, or if you want to bring them all. [00:26:16] Speaker B: Back for everybody, I'm going to throw a couple just near the shoreline, like in a tree or something. Okay. There will be something about them that sets them apart, like, I don't know, I'll put a notch in them or something like that. [00:26:30] Speaker A: Sounds good. [00:26:30] Speaker B: Regardless. Yes, I will have left those and I'm gonna head back towards the mainland. [00:26:35] Speaker A: Sounds great. And with your roll earlier for kayaking, I'm not going to have you roll again. Honestly, with your accrued dice pool, you could take half and succeed. Especially since you're not being weighed down by drones and guns at this point. So you were able to make it back over to the beach and start to pull yourself up onto shore. As you see the crowd of people, some of them are outside of the inn, but not as many as you thought you saw, which means some of them must be inside of the inn. Felix, are you sending Henry just straight across the beach towards the inn, or are you having him walk along the road into town? [00:27:14] Speaker C: Along the road. [00:27:16] Speaker A: Okay. [00:27:16] Speaker C: Mainly because footprints and all of that cannot be tracked. But also I feel like he would have an easier time on steady ground instead of on the sand. [00:27:25] Speaker A: Fair enough. With that, how fast would you say Henry is? I leave this up to you. You're the creator of Henry. [00:27:35] Speaker C: I'd say he's pretty decent. Oh, my God. I would say he's pretty decent on foot. I wouldn't say he's a natural born marathon runner, but I feel like since he's quite lanky, he can pack some. Some distance, a couple of steps. [00:27:52] Speaker A: Okay. So I guess that actually does beg the question, can Henry run? [00:27:56] Speaker B: Yes. [00:27:57] Speaker A: Okay, then he will get there much quicker than the roughly 20 minute walk that it would normally take to get from about where I think you all would be with the vantage point that you had over in that direction. So Henry is on his way down the road as Keith is Kayaking back across. You have view. You have a view in, like in Henry. As you advance inward, you're at the moment, you're just seeing town, empty town. Not a single shop is open that you can tell. Not a single person seems to be out. But you already do know where people are. Are you going to steer Henry towards them, or are you going to simply maneuver through town to see if you can see anything else? [00:28:44] Speaker C: I wouldn't try to maneuver him throughout town, but I will not. Like, I'm trying for him to, like, not necessarily walk directly into death trap. So if I can have him hide in shadows or be sneaky as much as he can, then I would prefer doing that. But it's not necessarily going the long scenic way round, round town. [00:29:06] Speaker A: Fair enough. I need for you to roll. You usually have a five dice pool for him, but stealth is not one of his options and he is rather big. I need for you to roll four dice for me, and we're gonna see how he does. [00:29:18] Speaker C: That's three. [00:29:20] Speaker A: Okay? [00:29:21] Speaker C: Yes. Thief successes last. I did not change. Shit. [00:29:26] Speaker A: All right, you're going to maneuver Henry. You're taking off the autonomous element of Henry so that you can put him where you want him to be. And while it's not exactly a densely crammed together town, you're able to keep him mostly along buildings and out of General's line of sight so that you can see more of what's going on without getting all the way into it. And on the camera, you see from your vantage point pointed towards the inn, a much better view than either you all had or Keith had. From farther away, you see several townsfolk, regular townsfolk, standing outside of outside of the inn, holding flashlights and, like, electric camping lanterns, looking up inside. There is definitely movement happening inside of the building. And after a while, more bodies come out of the building. I emphasize the word bodies because calling them people is generous. They look rather humanoid, but they trend much more, if not beyond, the corpse that Dr. Armitage showed you. All these things have significantly malformed heads, eyes that seem lidless, growths that jut off of their arms. Some of them have more webbed hands with longer claws. Some of their hands are not hands at all, but strange, floppy appendages that might be tentacles, it might just be boneless limbs. It's hard to tell what they shuffle out of the inn, grouping up with everybody. There's some conversation between everyone and the ones with lights turn and walk towards the town proper. Across the beach. These creatures, these four or five creatures in Tow advancing into town. It seems that they did not find who or what they were looking for at the inn. Which means it might be somewhere else in town. While they're not coming directly for Henry, they are moving in. Is. Is your screen big enough for Smithy and Vienna to see this as well, or do you have to relay this information to them? [00:32:07] Speaker C: No, I think they can see it. I think we're kind of all posted up like a little fucked up viewing party, like observing everything. [00:32:22] Speaker E: Oh my God. [00:32:24] Speaker C: I'm gonna be super bold here and assume that hopefully Keith and I aren't the starring cast of whatever they're looking for. That being said, should I have Henry look around some more? [00:32:45] Speaker E: This thing record like. Like a camera? [00:32:49] Speaker C: It can. [00:32:50] Speaker E: Yeah, that's our evidence. [00:32:53] Speaker A: I see. [00:32:54] Speaker E: We get banks, me get the out of Dodge because they're looking for a meal. [00:33:02] Speaker C: Smoothie. [00:33:07] Speaker D: Okay, so based on what we've seen and, and the body, the information that we got from the body, and then seeing these things a little more clearly now, is there anything that, that comes to mind about what could be causing these things? If it's like some sort of, you know, infection, some sort of creature that's creating them, or some sort of ritual. [00:33:39] Speaker A: I would need, if anybody were interested in that, in figuring that out, I would need a role of intelligence occult. Unless one of you has a library edge, which might help sort out more information about what you're digging into, in which case that would add bonuses onto it. [00:33:59] Speaker E: I think, as Smithy says, that I just reach into my bag, pull out this little government issued Kindle, tap in a passcode, start swiping through until I reach like a file. It's heavily redacted, but at the top it's aquatic anomalies. [00:34:18] Speaker A: All right, go ahead. And I assume that all this is offline information that you have downloaded to the device. [00:34:27] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. This is the last thing I grabbed before I got out of there. [00:34:29] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead and make me a resolve and academics roll. This is for the library edge. Again, your desperation dice is at two at the moment. If you wanted to add two more dice onto your roll. But remember to let me know if either of those are ones. [00:34:44] Speaker E: I certainly am going to take those dice. Good news, no ones. Is there anything that happens when you roll criticals on your. Gosh, I forgot the name of the dice. The special dice. [00:35:00] Speaker A: No, they serve just as well as any criticals. It's not the equivalent of vampire. [00:35:04] Speaker E: Well, I roll the crit on that. So that is a critical success at. [00:35:09] Speaker A: A rate of Five, A rate of five. You're not quite finding things under aquatic anomalies that seem to match. You're finding a lot of larger sea life that doesn't quite make sense. So you start continuing to scroll and you're starting to look for anything that might match up. And you eventually come to a section from a government age, a government operation that was heavily documented by your, by your group. You were able to get your hands on this. It comes from a project folder that is labeled First Light. And it talks about a classification of creature that was used as servants or henchmen, bodies for the creatures that were being hunted. These blank bodies, as the document calls them, these heavily modified creatures were human at one point, but were given a variety of adjustments by the creatures in question to weaponize them and degrade their. Their mental willpower, making them much more pliant for servitude. This is the closest thing that you're going to find that matches this. There is no Creature of the Black Lagoon section of this file. But you're talking about people that have weird growth anomalies on them and are just trudging along looking for trouble. This is your big match. [00:36:56] Speaker E: I'm reading this all loud, going through the file. So looks like it's less Creature from the Black Lagoon and more like we've stumbled into Nosferatu's house. [00:37:10] Speaker D: Great. Well then, I mean, the unfortunate problem that I see is that it's unlikely that, you know, there's. There's a single. A singular artifact that will kill them all on that island. So short of taking them all on. [00:37:38] Speaker E: I've got a friend in the FETs, direct connections to First Light. We used to work together. Use my handler. I'm just going to make an anonymous call once we get to the edge of town and then we book it, dump all our electronics in the water. But first we gotta get Keiths out of there. [00:37:56] Speaker A: And with that Keith, you have made it back to shore, dragging the kayak up. And you see the crowd around the inn starting to gather. And you see these strange creatures that have come out of the inn. They are mortifying to look at, but somehow it's still not the strangest thing that you have come across in your time. The thing that jumps out to you the most, though, is an overwhelming feeling of, I suppose eagerness might be the closest approximation. And with a brief moment of introspection, it's not coming from you. And if it's not coming from you, there's typically only one source that it could come from in Such a situation. And that is the sword at your hip. [00:38:56] Speaker B: Is it being pulled towards a particular one of the individuals or just them as a whole? [00:39:01] Speaker A: It seems that it's being pulled towards them as a whole. [00:39:06] Speaker B: Gotcha. Um, let's see. What do I have? They're inside of the building and around it. Right. [00:39:17] Speaker A: They are starting to exit the building and head into town. [00:39:25] Speaker B: Okay. Because as far as I understand with the sword, if it is being pulled towards something, that means that I have to do something. And I don't really think it would be much thought to it. I would probably just get on the headset and tell them I'm going to go take a look at things. If you hear. If you hear shooting, please come get me. [00:39:57] Speaker C: Or we could just come get you now. I feel like we should not. No, no. Keith. [00:40:05] Speaker B: Keith. [00:40:08] Speaker A: Keith. You advance forward into town behind this group that is now walking the streets in typical mob fashion. Lights up, going street to street, looking in windows, looking for something, looking for someone. [00:40:27] Speaker B: I would like to use sensei Unnatural to see if I can be drawn towards any particular one of them in the group. [00:40:35] Speaker A: Okay. I can call this a different scene at this point since you've cleared the island. So go ahead and make that roll for me once more. [00:40:41] Speaker B: Sure. And that's wits and occult. [00:40:47] Speaker A: Occult, yes. [00:40:50] Speaker B: I'm gonna roll two, three successes. [00:40:56] Speaker A: Okay. You're definitely getting that unnatural feel. You're not getting that unnatural feel towards any one of them in particular. It's definitely just coming from that direction. You are also getting that vampiric feel again. But it's softer. It doesn't feel. This feels more like vampire tainted as opposed to the full source. [00:41:18] Speaker B: But I felt it much stronger on the island. Right. [00:41:20] Speaker A: Much stronger on the island. [00:41:23] Speaker B: But I looked through the whole thing, and nothing was there. [00:41:26] Speaker A: Nothing on the surface. Now. [00:41:31] Speaker B: I don't think we have harpoon guns. Okay. And I didn't feel the pull with the sword while I was on the island. Correct? [00:41:46] Speaker A: Not. No, you didn't actually on the island itself, but also, there was nothing immediately accessible to you there. [00:41:54] Speaker B: Okay. How many of them are there? [00:41:57] Speaker A: There's about. I think I said about four or five of the strange creatures and about a half dozen townsfolk are with them. [00:42:06] Speaker B: Okay. All right. Hopefully y'all are ready for this. All right, Logic brain says, okay, we need to get whatever it is. These are tainted by vampiric power. Therefore, there must be something in the background that made them that would probably be very upset if they were to start dying. So I'm gonna blast One of them or try to get close? One of them. [00:42:35] Speaker A: What are you shooting them with? [00:42:37] Speaker B: Shotgun, full bore. [00:42:39] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead and make me. Hmm. [00:42:45] Speaker B: I believe it's. Yeah, go ahead. [00:42:48] Speaker A: I say oftentimes it's composure in firearms, but unless you're getting right up behind them, I would say dexterity and firearms for aiming at a bit of a distance. [00:42:57] Speaker B: Yep, works for me. All right. Seven successes. [00:43:09] Speaker A: Seven successes. You're aiming at just one of them, correct? [00:43:12] Speaker B: Correct. Yeah. And the shotgun has a plus four. [00:43:16] Speaker A: Plus four. Is there anything particular about the ammunition to this shotgun? [00:43:21] Speaker B: No, I didn't pick any special rounds or anything, so. [00:43:24] Speaker A: Okay, so you said seven and it's a plus four, correct? [00:43:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:34] Speaker A: That is more than enough if I'm doing my math correctly. Felix, you're still looking through the screen of Henry, right? [00:43:45] Speaker C: I sure am. [00:43:47] Speaker A: You see this crowd start to come around a corner. They're still looking through windows. They're getting closer to around the corner from where Henry is hiding. [00:43:58] Speaker C: Got it? [00:43:58] Speaker A: Yes, got it. [00:43:59] Speaker C: Okay. [00:44:00] Speaker A: Henry is still relatively hidden, but it won't be a matter of time before they find him. And then you see something else. You see one of the. One of the terrifying creatures towards the back of the group quite literally explode as you all hear a loud shotgun blast that just echoes out in open air from the town. As, Keith, you've dealt exceptional damage to this creature. Enough to completely obliterate one of them, of course, drawing the attention of the other four, plus the six townsfolk. The townsfolk, however, do not seem much less concerned with charging you as they do getting away from sudden gunfire. [00:44:47] Speaker B: I wasn't going to shoot them anyway. This is basically just me knocking on the fucking door trying to get the. Whatever it is that made these come out. [00:44:54] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:44:55] Speaker C: Cool, cool, cool. So this again, no expert here, but I feel like this would consider to be gunfire, which means that now is the time for us to join. [00:45:06] Speaker D: Yes, that is correct. Yes. [00:45:08] Speaker C: Cool. You don't happen to have a spare shotgun? [00:45:14] Speaker D: Keith took most of them, even with the. [00:45:18] Speaker E: The little ones. [00:45:21] Speaker D: And I reach down into my bag that's under the seat and I have one shotgun and I have one pistol. [00:45:29] Speaker A: That is correct. [00:45:29] Speaker D: I also have a bowie knife, but. [00:45:32] Speaker A: You know, that is also correct. Felix, I believe that you also have a couple of weapons on your person. It's Vienna that is weaponless. [00:45:41] Speaker C: Yeah, I have a handgun and a butterfly knife and a lock pick gun, which I do not think will do us any good right now. So I'm handing Vienna my handgun. You point not at us, at Other. Other people that don't look like us. Okay. I need you to confirm with me that you won't point this at us. [00:46:05] Speaker E: And I'm a government agent. I've been trained with this. Yes, it's been a few years. [00:46:11] Speaker C: Don't say that. Actually, I don't need to know anything that would give me doubt that you know how to use this. [00:46:18] Speaker E: Shoot and kill the fish in a barrel. [00:46:20] Speaker A: Yes. [00:46:21] Speaker C: You're doing it perfect. [00:46:23] Speaker A: All right, so first question. Are you all driving the van over there or are you running into town? [00:46:31] Speaker C: Can we drive over the. [00:46:33] Speaker E: Yeah, let's run him over. That was my idea. Let's do it. [00:46:36] Speaker A: So. So then who's driving? [00:46:40] Speaker C: I point at Smithy immediately. I. [00:46:43] Speaker D: Okay, I guess it's me. [00:46:47] Speaker A: Okay. And that is an important question for my next question, which is in the time it takes for you to get there, Felix, are you piloting Henry to do anything while Keith takes on these other four creatures? [00:46:58] Speaker C: Yes, I am absolutely piloting Henry. And since he has the brawl feature, he will spring into action to help with the fish people as much as possible. [00:47:08] Speaker A: Excellent. As all of them have turned to face Keith, who is standing there wielding a shotgun. Felix, I will let you roll your five dice for Henry for him to act before we get to them. [00:47:19] Speaker C: Sweet. That is three successes. [00:47:25] Speaker A: Three successes, Henry. So, Keith, you see as they all turn around, you see the hulking form, the familiar hulking form of Henry, this robot emerge from around a building, arms raised up by this pneumatic device and clubbing down onto another one of them. Not doing anywhere near the amount of damage that you did with your shotgun. But. Well, you're not alone at the moment. [00:47:52] Speaker B: Yeah, they'll throw their footing off. That's fine with me. I'm racking and shoot another one. [00:47:57] Speaker A: Absolutely. Well, first. First, the one that is clubbed is going to turn around and it is going to go ahead and attack at Henry. [00:48:10] Speaker C: Not my son. Be very careful now. [00:48:16] Speaker A: Is only going to. It's only going to roll it. It's gonna roll two, so that's not going to do significant damage to Henry. Drones do have a health pool of five, so that is going to chip off. Given that it's a robot, I'd say it applies to the usual having rules. That's going to chip off one out of the five of Henry's health dots. But you see this? You see this one that you. That Henry club turned around and just lash out with these tentacle like appendages whipping at Henry, trying to pull at its limbs and you can see some of the steam kick out as that pneumatic device is pulled for Keith, the others. [00:49:04] Speaker C: Yes, because I am having it on my screen. I'm just wondering, can I make out if they seem intelligent? Like, do I rec. Like in their eyes and stuff? Do I feel like they are, like, actually coherent, or are they just, like, zombie? Like, you know, just going after everything that kind of moves? [00:49:23] Speaker A: It's a little bit hard to tell, but they are moving. Individually, it seems. [00:49:28] Speaker C: Okay, cool. [00:49:29] Speaker A: So they have enough. They have enough sense that it's not just like some horde mentality. The one that is attacked responded for itself, and the other three are currently going towards Keith. [00:49:39] Speaker C: Got it. [00:49:42] Speaker A: Keith, if you would like to do any kind of a dodge, you can roll a dexterity athletics as the three come at you. Otherwise you can try to take a hit. [00:49:51] Speaker B: I would like to try and dodge. That is going to be seven. [00:50:01] Speaker A: Seven successes. That's more than enough to evade this. This horde that just comes flying at you claws out as they swipe. Not able to connect. They are. They're clumsy. They are not used to their prey fighting back. They are not used to their prey being so elusive. And they sweep past you as you rack another shot. You were going to take another shot, I assume. [00:50:31] Speaker B: Yes. Same dexterity, or at this range, will. [00:50:34] Speaker A: Be composure and firearms. [00:50:36] Speaker B: Okay, you're not. [00:50:37] Speaker A: You're no longer needing to keep the gun steady enough for dexterous aim. [00:50:41] Speaker B: That is worse for me. All right, that's fine. Let's go with four successes. [00:50:49] Speaker A: Four successes, you're able to get off a pretty good shot on one of them. You see Icarus blood splatter outward across the sidewalk. It hisses in a squealing sound. It doesn't seem to slow it down too terribly much, but it does visible damage at least. [00:51:13] Speaker B: All right, I'm just gonna keep going. [00:51:17] Speaker A: Fair enough. The three of you, you are driving into town. Smithy, could you make me a dexterity and drive roll to see how fast, how well we get there? Reminder that your desperation Dice is at 2. [00:51:31] Speaker D: I think this is a good time to use the desperation dice. So we're gonna use the desperation dice. [00:51:37] Speaker A: All right. Just be sure to let me know if any of them are ones or either of them are ones. [00:51:41] Speaker D: Yeah. So unfortunately, one of them is okay. And then I have two successes. [00:51:47] Speaker A: Otherwise. Okay, so you succeeded because you succeeded on the roll itself. The test does pass. But you did roll a one on the desperation dice, which means you have an option. You can either enter overreach or despair. Despair Means that you can no longer use desperation dice until you meet the redemption that is attached to your drive. It should be at the top of your character sheet. Overreach will allow you to continue to use your desperation dice. The danger, however, will increase by one for the one that you got on your desperation die. [00:52:25] Speaker D: No, I think I'm gonna go into overreach. I think I'm just gonna go into overreach. We're gonna go up a danger level. Sorry, guys. Absolutely. [00:52:33] Speaker A: The danger is now four. As you drive, and you are driving, you are making very good. Well, actually, I'll let you decide. Do you want to drive fast or safe? [00:52:44] Speaker D: Oh, fast. [00:52:46] Speaker A: I think you are driving over sidewalks. You are. You have cl. You have clipped somehow the one car that is parked on this street as you have gone. It's quite a feat, I have to say, but you did it. And you are able to arrive. Given the timing, you're able to arrive within the course of that round that I've just mentioned. And it's not a. It's not a particularly far drive from where you were to where they are. It's just a long walk. So you pull up outside, like on the cross street, seeing Keith leveling shotgun at these three creatures while Henry is grappled by another one, Felix. Before the other two get out, before everybody gets out of the car and does anything, do you want to have Henry do anything else, or are you just going to all emerge from the van? [00:53:40] Speaker C: I will have Henry try to either fling or punch the fish again, like, either, like a nice wrestling swing or, you know, anything like that before jumping out. Since I only have the butterfly knife, I will probably try to get that one in the back that Henry is holding because it's not paying attention to me. [00:54:05] Speaker A: That's fair. I will say that you can, at this point, you can either, you can either pilot Henry or you can engage physically. [00:54:14] Speaker C: I can't, like, put in a command and then let that command basically run out as I. [00:54:21] Speaker A: Well, actually, actually, you. You know, you do have the autonomous ability, so drones can operate solo. So yes, you will be able to do that. That you'll be able to do that. You just will not be able to make distinguishing things about what you want them to do. Henry is simply going to fight. Cool. [00:54:36] Speaker C: Then he will just fight. And I will try to help out by stabbing that fish man thingy in the back. [00:54:42] Speaker A: Absolutely. Please roll five dice for Henry to fight. [00:54:48] Speaker C: Four successes. [00:54:50] Speaker A: Four successes. Henry is able to club shovel this creature off of him. Dealing a bit more damage. Again, not a significant amount of damage, but it's enough to free them. As Smithy, Vienna and Felix, you have all arrived at the scene. As you've all arrived. Would anybody like to do anything before you rotate back into Keith? [00:55:16] Speaker E: I would. Do we have a canister of gasoline in the back, perchance? Fuel? [00:55:27] Speaker D: I don't know. Did we? I would think for the road trip. [00:55:30] Speaker E: Right. [00:55:30] Speaker A: I leave this entirely up to you all. [00:55:32] Speaker E: Oh, I'm gonna look around for some glass bottles. I'm gonna start making Molotov cocktails on the back. I can't shoot for shit, but I can sure as hell mix something up. [00:55:41] Speaker A: Okay. Please make me an intelligence and science role in science. [00:55:48] Speaker E: Sure thing. Alrighty, Muse, our desperation die. [00:55:56] Speaker A: Okay, you have two to use. You can use as a reminder for folks. You can use one or both of them. You do not have to use all of them all the time. [00:56:05] Speaker E: Three successes. No ones. [00:56:07] Speaker A: Okay, so you are. You are crafting some. It's some simple, simple combustible chemistry. Nothing too. Nothing too fancy. It'll go boom when it's exposed to things that make it go boom. Smithy, are you going to be doing anything or are you just now pulling up? [00:56:26] Speaker D: I'm gonna pull up and then slide out of the car and ready my shotgun for the next round. [00:56:32] Speaker A: Okay. All right. At that point. Let me roll. The one that Henry was fighting scrambles back up and throws itself at Henry. With six successes, Henry is not completely destroyed, but it slams Henry to the ground and starts pulling upwards. And Felix, much to your horror, you see one of Henry's arms come loose in this creature's grasp as it animalistically tears into your drone. Once again, Henry is not. Henry is not destroyed. Henry is still. Is still functional. But Henry is severely damaged. [00:57:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I only see rage since Henry is very close to me. And one of the reasons why I'm doing what I'm doing is because of a family member in distress. I think it all blends together. And in a fit of rage, I will try to, like, pry that thing off of Henry any way I can. So if it's with a knife, if it's with my own body weight, I do not care. [00:58:08] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead and I'll. We'll jump to you in this one because it makes sense. Here. Go ahead and make me a. It'll be entirely up to you. Strength and brawl, or strength and melee, depending on if you're using a weapon or not. Your desp. The desperation level now is at three. [00:58:25] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm going to use all of the three dies, that is. That is four successes. But one of the desperation die was a one. [00:58:35] Speaker A: All right, that is definitely a success. But once again, you have a choice. You can either fall into despair, which means that you will not be able to use desperation dice going forward until you meet your redemption again. Your redemption is at the top of your character sheet, which I will say, looking at it is rather likely to be done. [00:58:59] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:59:00] Speaker A: Or you can go into overreach, which will increase the danger at this point. It will increase the danger to the maximum level. [00:59:09] Speaker C: Yeah, no, I'm going into desperation. [00:59:11] Speaker A: Okay, so go ahead and click the despair next to your willpower. You will no longer be able to use desperation dice for this. But with four successes, you are able to jump in, wrapping your arms around this strange fish man monster, digging the knife in to it, and pull and causing it to drop the dismembered arm of Henry as you stab at it really quick. Let's go ahead and see how things are going for Keith. Keith, again, you can either choose to dodge, or you can choose to absorb hit. I believe you. I believe you do have a Kevlar vest on for armor purposes. [00:59:56] Speaker B: I do, but I would like to dodge. [00:59:58] Speaker A: Go for it. [01:00:03] Speaker B: Three successes. [01:00:05] Speaker A: Three successes. All right, you. And. And what's the armor rating on the Kevlar vestigan? 4. Oh, that's more than enough. Then you. You do have one of these claws land a hit on you, but fortunately for you, it does land wild swing at your chest, digging nails into the kevlar. You can tell, though, that if not for the vest, this would be buried deep into your flesh as this webbed hand digs at you. These things are now fighting out of sheer desperation. Keith, it is your turn once more. [01:00:46] Speaker B: Yeah, just gonna shoot another one. [01:00:48] Speaker A: All right, make your roll. [01:00:50] Speaker B: And we're still doing composure in firearms. [01:00:52] Speaker A: Right at close range. Yes, you can shoot another one. Or if you don't want to use Composure, you can always draw the sword. [01:01:06] Speaker B: No, we'll try to shoot one of them. [01:01:09] Speaker A: All right. You do feel a twinge somewhere in your mind as you make your choice. [01:01:17] Speaker B: Six successes. [01:01:19] Speaker A: Six. [01:01:19] Speaker B: And then plus four for the shotgun. [01:01:21] Speaker A: Yes, another one. The one probably that clawed directly at you is no more as the head just simply explodes backwards, coating the wall of one of the nearby buildings with this black sludge. As you level the shotgun, Levin, the shotgun square at its face. Vienna, you were creating something explosive in the back. What are you doing with it? [01:01:51] Speaker E: Just a run of the mill Molotov cocktail, some gasoline, a rag lighter. Now I just gotta aim the crowd so I don't burn any of my friends. [01:02:02] Speaker A: All right, well, you've got Felix that is currently grappled with one, and a couple more of them are around. Keith, you could always tell one of them to move when you throw it. Or you can hope for the best. [01:02:17] Speaker E: Felix loves that damn robot more than he does himself. I'm just gonna shout, fire in the hole. Throw it. [01:02:25] Speaker A: All right, which one are you throwing it at? Or are you just throwing it in general? [01:02:29] Speaker E: I'm throwing it towards where Felix is being fought. [01:02:34] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead and make me a dexterity and athletics roll for throne. [01:02:41] Speaker E: Do use desperation die, because I don't have that many. [01:02:47] Speaker A: Desperation is at 3. [01:02:48] Speaker E: Desperation is at 3. [01:02:50] Speaker D: O. [01:02:50] Speaker E: Let me add another one then. That's not a lot of successes. That's two successes. [01:02:58] Speaker A: Two successes. I guess the question is, were you aiming for the creature directly or just nearby? [01:03:03] Speaker E: Nearby. I don't want to splash my pants. [01:03:07] Speaker A: That's easy enough. Then, Felix, you hear a fire in the hole and you hear a crashing sound as nearby you. Up ahead of you is just an explosion of flame from the ground as a Molotov cocktail crashes and the gasoline spreads. [01:03:23] Speaker C: I take note of the fire. I'm still too much in my rage to really comprehend that Yana was throwing it to help me out. But I will try to drag the fish creature towards the fire to throw it in there. [01:03:39] Speaker A: Okay. [01:03:40] Speaker C: Just to, like, also get. Get away from Henry, because I don't want him to be harmed any more than he already is. [01:03:47] Speaker A: Make me a strength and brawl roll to throw this thing towards the fire. It is going to attempt to get away as well. [01:03:55] Speaker C: Oh, Christ. That's a success. [01:04:00] Speaker A: Just a single success. [01:04:03] Speaker C: Two. [01:04:05] Speaker A: Two. Okay. [01:04:08] Speaker C: Give me something, please. [01:04:11] Speaker A: It's. It's. It's a struggle. This thing is flailing back and forth, back and forth with you. But you did manage to roll to a level where you were able to drag this thing towards the. You have to. You have to physically drag it with you towards the fire. You can't just throw it towards the fire. So at this point, you can. At. At this point, you drag it towards you. You can either drag it through the fire, as in yourself dragging it through the fire, or you can try to push it into the fire. If you drag it through the fire, that ends right now. If you try to push into the fire, that'll be your next turn. Another attempted. [01:04:47] Speaker C: No, I'm. I'm just gonna drag it with me. I have no real currency. [01:04:55] Speaker A: Fair enough. Felix. I will need for you to take one aggravated damage as you walk through a burning gasoline pool, dragging this creature through it, forcing it into the fire. It is going to burn your legs, but it is going to do the trick as you force this thing aflame and you hear it squealing echoing off of the buildings on this street. Smithy, you were readying a shotgun to help out Keith, I believe. [01:05:31] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. I mean, just, you know, take them. Take them all down. But helping Keith is obviously part of that, so. [01:05:36] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely. So by all means. [01:05:40] Speaker D: All right, let's see. Trying to decide. Do I risk the desperation dice again? Do we need it? I'm not going to this round. We'll see how it goes. Okay, that is three successes. And then I'm using my shotgun, so. Plus four. [01:06:00] Speaker A: Okay. You do a sizable amount of damage to one of them. This point, radio. That one is going to take a swipe at you again. You can either use your dexterity and athletics to dodge, or you can try to absorb it with whatever armor you have. [01:06:22] Speaker D: Yeah, let's try and dodge just for. [01:06:25] Speaker A: The fun of it, all right? [01:06:28] Speaker D: Oh, I definitely don't. Well, maybe I do. That's two successes. [01:06:33] Speaker A: Okay, and what's your armor rating? [01:06:37] Speaker D: Plus two, because I have heavy leathers. [01:06:40] Speaker A: Wonderful. That is exactly going to counteract the number of successes as this thing slashes at you, its claws getting tangled up in your coat instead. The other one, though. The other one, though, hearing the squealing of its companion on fire and the subsequent splattering of its friends, scrambles along the ground and flees. It runs straight back the way it came, vaulting over the van in a clear jump as it runs away from here. Keith, Smithy just put a sizable hole in one, but it's still up. What are you going to do? [01:07:29] Speaker B: I'm gonna go walk over and stab it with my sword. [01:07:32] Speaker A: Okay. All right. Go ahead and make me that roll of strength or dexterity, depending on how you do it. And melee. [01:07:43] Speaker B: Let's go with dexterity and melee. [01:07:46] Speaker A: All right. [01:07:52] Speaker B: Three successes and plus three for the blade. [01:07:56] Speaker A: That is going to be more than enough. As you dig the blade in, feeling a sense of gratitude, relief, excitement, some combination of positive emotions wash over you as the blade digs into this thing's flesh and stops it from moving. You look down as the blood runs up the blade into those strange carved letters sinking in, Felix. You are furiously patting your legs off, trying to get the flames out as the creature thrashes and burns to death. The rest of you creatures are gone, except the One fled. [01:08:44] Speaker E: At this point, I imagine I'm still posted up in the van from where I threw the Molotov. So crouching back door is open. I say it's going to get its master. Come on, we need to go now. We are not prepared for a blank body. [01:09:00] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, not. Not now anyway. And I will go and I'll. I'll try and grab Felix and help with Henry and. [01:09:11] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, I'm already reaching for a first aid kit. I'm going to tear those pants off and start getting to work. [01:09:15] Speaker A: Felix, how are you feeling right now? [01:09:20] Speaker C: Adrenaline rushing through my veins. I think I will just numbly go where Vienna and Smithy kind of lead me, but my eyes will be on Henry, and I think as soon as my legs are somewhat bandaged by Vienna, I will try to book it for Henry so I can see if I can repair him. [01:09:42] Speaker A: Okay. Uh, fair enough. [01:09:45] Speaker C: Very like, single minded. Unfortunately, for this, you're gonna tear my stitchers. [01:09:51] Speaker A: And Keith, how are you feeling? [01:09:55] Speaker B: Well, that's not really so much a question for me. How does. How do I feel? Do I feel like this is done, or do I feel like there's more that I have to do? [01:10:09] Speaker A: This is not done, okay? One of them got away. It is going somewhere. And you know the feeling that you felt on that island. Okay, Putting two and two together, you can probably assume where that thing is going. You do know that you have a camera set up in that direction to confirm that, though. [01:10:32] Speaker B: I'm going to walk towards the van asking Vienna or actually. Well, Smithy might actually know this. Do we have dragonfire rounds? [01:10:46] Speaker A: Do. [01:10:46] Speaker D: Do. I mean, with my arsenal and my exotic tag, I would assume you made the roll. [01:10:52] Speaker A: Yeah, you made the roll earlier and you mentioned a variety of ammunition. I will say that you don't have a ton, but there are. There are some office rounds in the bag that you left on the island. I will also remind you, Keith, if I remember correctly, you get. You got yourself in a hofla. Yes, in character creation. [01:11:14] Speaker B: I do have that. And I was waiting for our friend to make themselves known before I break that out. Absolutely. [01:11:20] Speaker A: Just figured I'd remind you while you're looking for incendiary things. Plus you'd have more. You probably have more Molotovs. I imagine Vienna made more than one. [01:11:29] Speaker B: How about flare gun? Do we have flare gun? [01:11:33] Speaker A: I don't believe anybody has a flare gun. [01:11:35] Speaker B: Okay? [01:11:36] Speaker D: Not me. [01:11:39] Speaker A: Felix, as you look over Henry, this is going to obviously take a lot more time to piece him back together. He's Not. He's not a human, so he's not at risk of bleeding out. This is salvageable. You probably don't want to bring Henry into any fights until you fix him, but he's not on the verge of expiration. You can fix this. And actually, given what you did, I'm going to stretch the language a little bit. With your redemption of the cell, must protect someone from the monster. Sacrificing your own health to drag this creature off of Henry. The flames, I think, would meet the redemption qualification. And so you can remove the desperation from here. You may now use desperation dice for the remainder of this game. [01:12:31] Speaker C: Sweet. I think seeing Henry better than not, I will turn towards the others and. Yeah, thank you for dragging him over here. Smithy and Vienna. Keith. [01:12:53] Speaker E: Yeah, whatever. Just stand still. I'm glad the robot's okay. Just give me a second. Your legs. You've got a second degree burn here. [01:13:02] Speaker A: Go ahead and make me an intelligence and medicine roll. Vienna, as you are tending to the wound. Meanwhile, Keith, you were talking with Smithy about ammunition and artillery. Yeah. [01:13:14] Speaker B: So I'm just going to say so, Felix, when you are able to, I need to know where our friend is going, so I need you to look on the cameras. [01:13:25] Speaker A: Felix, you can be the one to check in on the cameras, or you could just hand Keith the screen, depending on how you're feeling about ownership. [01:13:36] Speaker C: I don't think I mind Keith taking over, especially if my legs are being bandaged up and maybe now finally the pain is hitting me a little bit more than I would like. So I will definitely hand the screen over to Keith and just like, just take it. Take it so fast before I crush it. [01:13:55] Speaker A: Keith taking the screen and looking at the screen with the camera that you had facing the bay, you see this creature cutting abnormally fast through the water, almost gliding through the water as it straight lines at the island. It goes straight at the island and vanishes. It does not crest on top of the island. Given your observation of the area, you can assume that one of those potential caves that were along the the rocky baseline is enough of an entrance point. [01:14:33] Speaker B: Gotcha. [01:14:34] Speaker A: You are able to determine, Keith, you in particular, given your read of the whole situation from the island all the way to here, that wherever this thing is fleeing, it's going back to the source. So now you all are left with a decision to make. You are hunters. You hunt. The question now becomes, how do you hunt? Are you going to chase your prey down and finish this mission, or are you going to find another way to end this it is so tempting to. [01:15:07] Speaker E: Call in my contacts at the SAD right now, but I also would rather not end up behind bars for the rest of my life and then some. I just. I'm sitting on the edge of the van, pushing up my temples. How do y'all feel about blowing this place to smithereens? [01:15:28] Speaker B: Somehow part of me thinks that that's not gonna fly as far as my requirements. And I'm gonna pat the blade at my hip. [01:15:35] Speaker E: Oh, shit. Right? [01:15:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:15:36] Speaker E: You got a demon in your sword. Like, is it gonna. Like, does it need to take. Is it like one of those I need to taste blood things? No offense to the sword, of course. [01:15:45] Speaker C: Offense to the sword from me, it seems like both. [01:15:49] Speaker B: It needs to be by my hand is what I can gather. [01:15:54] Speaker C: So if you stab it and kill it, and then we blow it up. [01:15:59] Speaker B: I mean, I've shot things before, and it seems to work too. I just need to get some of its blood on it. [01:16:04] Speaker C: Perfect. Cool. [01:16:06] Speaker A: So checking the. Checking the cameras because Keith left drones from Felix on the island to monitor. As you check, you're able to see this creature that escaped cutting through the water at an alarming speed is straight line from the shore to the island. But then it doesn't breach the surface. It doesn't go onto the island. It goes out of sight, straight through. Keith. Being on the island, being there present, you know that there are several holes in the side of the island with some amount of water flowing into them. Not under. Not completely submerged, but still there. It seems that one of these is, in fact, a cave that is accessible. [01:16:51] Speaker B: And I think I will definitely convey that to everybody. Like, listen, so I think whatever we need to go after is going to be in one of those caves. I feel like I already know the answer to this, but do we have anything that we could collapse said caves with if we needed to? [01:17:09] Speaker E: I might have CS4 under the. No, no, God damn it. I left at the gas station. Okay. I think I. Give me a second. I pop back into the van, start hearing the jingling of various supplies. Smith, you still got wiring, like, for bombs and. [01:17:25] Speaker D: Oh, well, yeah, of course I do. [01:17:29] Speaker E: Okay, good, because we need to make something on the fly because I left the CS4 at the gas station. [01:17:34] Speaker A: Jesus Christ. Why is it at the gas station with that? Which one of you two are we making the explosives? Is it Smithy or is it Vienna? [01:17:46] Speaker E: My hands are sh. [01:17:47] Speaker D: Okay, okay, okay. [01:17:50] Speaker E: My hands are shaking right now from the thought of what we're gonna have to do. [01:17:54] Speaker A: Fair enough. Smithy. I will need you to make an intelligence and craft roll for this improvised explosive. You have an additional dot of craft for weaponsmithing and there are three dice worth of desperation to use. I will also give you an additional die for Vienna's assistance. On the chemistry side of things, I. [01:18:17] Speaker D: Think this feels like a desperate situation. So I'm definitely going to use all three of those desperation die. Happy to report no ones. So that's great. And that is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 successes. [01:18:31] Speaker A: I think that's quite enough to make, per the rules, a single use item that will be able to help you with something. I don't know what skill explosives would be, but I think that it would absolutely do the trick in this instance. So in the van, Smithy and Vienna, you are crafting together some high powered explosives and coupling that with the excess gasoline from Vienna's Molotov cocktails that have not gone up. You have accelerant to go with it. Keith, Felix, how are you preparing for this? [01:19:10] Speaker C: I don't really have much to prepare for, unfortunately to me, I suppose Henry is out of commission, which is the main one that I've always been relying on. And Wilbert is still somewhere in the bushes on the island. So until we get there, I'm kind of a little bit hands free. Vienna still has my handgun and I took the knife from me. So I guess I'm just going to like double check that I have my protective gear on and that I can basically stock up on anything that anybody needs carrying help with if. [01:19:48] Speaker A: Yeah, very fair. And Keith, you did leave a cache of weapons on the island as well. In addition to that, how are you preparing? [01:19:58] Speaker B: I'm going to look for everything that I can possibly find that will help me to kill the blank bodies that I've encountered before. So I'm making sure I have my hafla on me, making sure that I am fully stocked up on ammunition and everything else, I guess, and just mentally preparing for the reality of what I have to do. [01:20:20] Speaker A: Absolutely. You do have plenty of weaponry that can cause significant damage to a creature like this. And with the weaponry that is on the island, plus this explosive that you're doing, you should be able to do some sizable damage. You're not quite sure what it is you're getting into in there, but you're not going in without a fight. With the explosives made and everybody getting their gear together, unless you're waiting until morning for low tide, the only way over is going to be commandeering one of the boats to head over that way and Then going into the half submerged cave, it will not be over any of your heads. It will still be water that you're moving through. I will say though, given that it is night and you have significantly scared off the townsfolk, it'll be much easier for you to commandeer one of the larger fishing vessels than it was earlier for Keith to find transportation across. [01:21:22] Speaker E: Stealing's easy when you've already committed various other war crimes. [01:21:26] Speaker D: It's true. And I'm not much of a kayaker, so I'm happy about this. [01:21:32] Speaker A: Fair enough. So I am assuming that all four of you then are heading down to the docks with these various implements of destruction, boarding a boat and heading across the island. Once you reach the island, of course, Keith, you feel the sword is jittering with anticipation, excitement, glee. Possibly you've had to interpret these feelings over time, but you're feeling it. The weapons are where you've left them, and Wilbert is where you left him. [01:22:07] Speaker B: And I will go retrieve the items for everybody passing out shotguns, I would definitely feel like the sword's eagerness is not something that I particularly enjoy, but it is a reality that I have come to understand. [01:22:25] Speaker A: It is an unfortunate reality that you've come to understand. At least. At least you know that it's a very simple want. You just have to kill. The details are a little fuzzy, but so long as you are doing what it wants, things seem to go well for the bargain that you've made. Everybody, you have your gear. Go on. No. Go on, please. [01:22:54] Speaker B: I was going to say I pass out the shotguns to everybody and return. Wilbur. [01:22:58] Speaker A: All right, you all have your various guns and drone. [01:23:03] Speaker C: I hug the drone to my chest as one would hug maybe a plushie that they haven't seen in a while. And then I'll make sure that it floats behind me as I check the shotgun for just shells and making sure that everything is loaded the way that it should be. [01:23:20] Speaker A: Absolutely. And given Smithy's role at the start of this little two parter with the various ammunition required, I believe you definitely have the type of ammunition that would work best, which would be Rafa's rounds, incendiary rounds to kill whatever it is that you're about to go in after. There is only one way into this cave that you all can tell which is the way that this creature went into. It's the opening against the rocks in the water. You'll have to take a little bit of a jump in to get in there, but it looks like the cave itself is not completely submerged. So you should be able to trudge in through the water. You'll just need to keep your explosives and weapons from getting too wet. [01:24:04] Speaker B: And I will, as we're walking down, I will just have my weapon at the ready and kind of tell everybody like, all right, so I'm sure I don't have to tell you all this, but whenever we see whatever this thing is, just start shooting. There's too many things these things can say or do that'll mess us up. I don't want to give it the chance. [01:24:28] Speaker A: Understandable. So I am assuming then that all four of you, five plus Wilbert, are entering the cave. You enter in. As mentioned, water comes up to about chest level as you as you move in. The further that you push in though, the lower the water seems to get. But this cave feels off. The cave is marked with strange carvings in the walls. The rocks jut out in uncomfortable geometric formations. You feel distressed the further in that you get. But Keith, your blade feels wanting. And as you move, the water level lowers down to about waist level and down to about knee level. And you approach a large opening of the interior cave. Inside the mouth of the cave, you can see the one creature that fled huddled against the wall. It hisses at you, but it doesn't make any kind of a movement towards you. And inside seems to be illuminated by some sort of phosphorus coming from the water itself. [01:25:48] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm not even going to give the thing a chance to flank us and I'm going to shoot it. [01:25:53] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead and make me your dexterity and firearms roll. [01:26:01] Speaker B: That is going to be five successes plus the four for the shotgun. [01:26:06] Speaker A: Nine total. That's going to be more than enough given the total damage that was done across the board from the fight previously. You dispatch this thing without much of an issue, and once it is dispatched, you all hear and feel a rumbling from inside of the cave. Whatever it is is very aware of your presence now, as if it wasn't already. Do you all enter the cave or do you call out? [01:26:33] Speaker D: Call out? I don't need to call out to anybody. It's not how we do. We want to get the jump on it before it gets the jump on you. [01:26:42] Speaker A: Fair enough. Vienna, what were you about to do? [01:26:45] Speaker E: Or I spoke in third person. My hands are shaking around this gun. I hate to admit it. I don't like walking into the unknown. There's always science. There's always a reason behind things. Guiltily, I am going to shuffle behind everyone under the guise of taking a sample, which I am. But I'll be the last N. No one needs to see this. Hunter's cowardice tonight. [01:27:09] Speaker A: Absolutely. Keith, Felix, how about you? [01:27:12] Speaker C: I will. As soon as I see Smithy and Keith charging in and it gets loud and there is a lot of, like, fire happening, I think I will do the same. But I will have Wilbert, since I think he's still with a camera. I will have him record and hang back. Because if something happens to us, it's good to have some kind of recording of what happened. So I will have him, Wilbur, hang back as he records and I will shoot with a shotgun gifted to me by Smithy and Keith. [01:27:43] Speaker A: That's very fair. You all walk into the cave and you see large area, strange markings still lining the inside of this cave wall. But towards the back is a figure. Large figure. You look and you see fleshy growth coming from the back wall of the cave. Bulbous, distended stomach, massive, about the size of you all standing, the flesh pushed back into the crevices of the rock. It seems rooted in, sunk in. It's no wonder that this thing has strange minions doing its bidding for it. It's not going anywhere. Long, spindly arms with jagged hooks for fingers rest on top of the belly as a head, no neck to speak of, pops out the top. Earless, lidless, lipless mouth stretched into an unnatural, unwilling toothy smile as it looks at all of you and heaves a sigh that you know it doesn't actually need. And it looks down at all of you and you hear this voice echo through the cave, though it seems to come from the rocks of the cave wall itself, as opposed to from the creature in front of you. My name is Dragon. And who are you to enter my cave? My town? [01:29:46] Speaker B: Is it within range? [01:29:48] Speaker A: Arguably. [01:29:51] Speaker B: I'll let the shotgun speak for me. And I'm going to fire at it. [01:29:55] Speaker A: Go ahead and make your dexterity and firearms roll for me. [01:30:04] Speaker B: Six plus four. [01:30:06] Speaker A: Okay. You fire at it and burn marks scorch across its large belly. At the same time, you watch as the water around it rushes upwards, coating over its body, extinguishing the flames. But not before some damage is done. It's just going to stop actual burning from happening as it hisses with the pain and says, very well. [01:30:50] Speaker D: Don't like that sound. [01:30:52] Speaker E: That was too many dice. [01:30:56] Speaker A: I need everybody to make a dexterity and athletics roll. [01:31:01] Speaker B: I do have a supernatural shield too. [01:31:04] Speaker A: You do? You do? Yes. So if you take damage, it will half that. Yeah. Your difficulty is going to be five. [01:31:13] Speaker D: I couldn't make that if I tried. [01:31:16] Speaker A: Well, you do have desperation dice. Do remember? [01:31:19] Speaker D: Oh, that is true. I do. All right, it. Here's the thing. [01:31:23] Speaker E: I rolled with the desperation dice. No successes. [01:31:28] Speaker A: No successes. [01:31:30] Speaker C: Vienna, what the actual. [01:31:34] Speaker A: Now, remember, as we are coming up on the end, you also can spend a point of will willpower to re roll three unspent or unsuccessful dice. [01:31:42] Speaker C: Spend it, damn it. [01:31:43] Speaker D: You're right. [01:31:43] Speaker E: Spending it. [01:31:45] Speaker C: Spend it. [01:31:47] Speaker D: Can you. Can you do it in combat? In Hunter? [01:31:50] Speaker A: I see no reason why not. It doesn't say that you cannot use your willpower. All right. [01:31:56] Speaker E: Successes from those three dice. This is so fun. [01:31:58] Speaker A: Okay. [01:32:01] Speaker D: Well, I got five on the dot. [01:32:03] Speaker B: Okay, six for me. [01:32:06] Speaker A: Six. [01:32:08] Speaker C: Felix, that is four successes. [01:32:12] Speaker A: Okay, I'm going to offer an option. Two of you succeeded, Two of you did not. Though one of you got rather close. I'm going to offer those with a success the option to use some of that success to shield Vienna at the cost of mitigating damage for both of you. Damage will still be taken, obviously, because a margin will be in effect. The more that you are willing to give up to shield Vienna, the less she will take, and thus the more you will take. But it will be much less than one person taking the full brunt. [01:32:57] Speaker B: I will definitely do that because I already know I have something that helps against this kind of stuff. [01:33:02] Speaker A: That is true. How much will you sacrifice for your companion? [01:33:07] Speaker B: All of it. [01:33:09] Speaker A: All of it. Water boils underneath you as the level lowers. You look and see that it's lowered because it is raised up behind near this creature as it batters down on you, all crashing down, knocking you off of your feet. Felix, you rolled four successes, so you were going to take one more aggravated damage. [01:33:42] Speaker C: Got it? [01:33:44] Speaker A: Vienna, you are not going to take any. Neither are you, Smithy. Keith, because of the. The shield that you have, you are going to be spared the worst of this, but you are still going to take three aggravated damage. It is still a better option than what could have been. Keith, you feel immense pain as this boiling water washes over you, slamming you into the rocks, battering your head and body against the stone. Felix, you're already wounded, and being knocked off your footing down is just going to harm you even more as you are battered about. Smithy, you are able to keep your bearing. Vienna, you are safe by pure virtue of Keith moving in front of you to take the wave. But there is a calmness for a moment as the creature observes you all, seemingly satisfied with its work as it looks over all of you and says, I have ruled over this area for centuries and areas elsewhere for even more. What could you foredo that I could not undo, that I could not withstand? [01:35:16] Speaker D: It's at this point I take out the explosive that Vienna and I made, and I just kind of smile and say, well, I don't think you can do this. And I'm just going to walk over and I'm just going to set it like right at the base of the wall, wall where his body is, exists. And I'm gonna look at everybody and say, are, you know, are we ready. [01:35:47] Speaker E: To go just a second. To feel indulgent of scientific curiosity, you know, I would have interviewed you before, kept you in a lab. Nice. You're a real fucking dick. So I'm gonna do this and I'm just gonna take a little bit of skin off. [01:36:02] Speaker A: All right, the two of you that walked over near it, I need for you to once again make me a dexterity and athletics role. As you are now very much in range of this, of this creature. Difficulty is going to be three. [01:36:21] Speaker D: Okay, that's. Suck it, nerd. [01:36:25] Speaker E: Oh, my God. Okay, that's three exactly. Oh, my God. [01:36:30] Speaker A: You set your explosive and you scrape at this thing as it hisses. It's. It moves its spindly arms. You can tell it can't reach with the arms, but it grasps at you. You feel that water boiling again and manage to spring backward as the water from under your feet columns upward, slamming against the ceiling, holding in this twisting column of water, barely avoiding being caught in its grasp. [01:37:02] Speaker E: Seen that, Drake? Fucking dickhead. Thanks for the sample, ass wipe. Can't run, though. [01:37:10] Speaker A: Best thing with that question, with that statement about running. How much time is on that explosive timer? [01:37:19] Speaker D: Uh, I mean, what we figured it's about a five minute ride and I would like to be as far away from the island as possible when it does go off, because it is a fairly substantial little explosive. So I imagine seven and a half minutes gives us enough time we need. [01:37:39] Speaker A: All right, well then the question remains, with 7 and a half minutes to go, is anybody going to do anything else or are you all about to run? [01:37:50] Speaker C: I'm going to shoot at it again and say, this is for Henry. [01:37:57] Speaker A: Okay, we'll resolve this at the same time as Keith. Are you doing anything additional or are you just leaving? [01:38:05] Speaker B: I think if I see everybody else as leaving and there's no reasonable way that I can expect that this thing would be able to stop plastic explosives, I think I'm ready to leave. [01:38:15] Speaker A: Okay, Felix, go ahead and roll your composure and firearms for me. [01:38:19] Speaker C: Five successes, okay? [01:38:22] Speaker A: You watch the bullet bounce into this creature's stomach. You're not even sure how much damage you did to it, but you feel satisfied in your own right. As you all start to leave Keith, you hear a voice in your head. The same voice. This is inside of your mind at this point as it says you. And you turn and you see it looking down at you, but it's looking further down at the sword at your side. It says. And it speaks out loud, once again, reverberating off of the walls. You tell Vorvidas that this is not the end. It never will be. [01:39:14] Speaker B: I'll make sure to pass your message along, buddy. We'll see how you deal with that right there. And continue to leave. [01:39:23] Speaker A: And as you turn to leave, you hear the bubbling sound once more. You all start to hear the bubbling sound and see it under the. Under the water as the water starts to pull backwards under your feet. As you are leaving. I assume this is the part where you all start running. [01:39:40] Speaker E: Without fucking doubt. [01:39:42] Speaker A: I will need a dexterity and athletics roll once more from everybody. Your difficulty is going to be five once again. [01:39:53] Speaker D: Ooh, that's five with a crit. [01:39:59] Speaker A: Six, six, five. [01:40:01] Speaker E: Can you solve those? Desperation die. [01:40:03] Speaker A: All right, Felix. [01:40:08] Speaker C: So that is. That is a three and a one on the desperation die. [01:40:16] Speaker A: At this point. At this point, again, you can choose to hit despair and not be able to use your desperation dice, or you can overreach and up the danger of this situation that you were in. [01:40:26] Speaker C: Oh, then I'm gonna hit that despair, buddy. [01:40:29] Speaker A: Very fair. And Vienna, what did you make? [01:40:32] Speaker E: Five, Just barely. [01:40:35] Speaker A: Well, then Felix is gonna be the one to take the most of this. Rolling three under five. As you all feel the tunnel suddenly comp. Compress. And you feel a rush of heat behind you as the water fills the tunnel, propelling forward, washing all of you up in its wake, expelling you from the mouth of this cave into the water. Felix, your body bounces off of the side of the ship on your way out. You're going to take three over five. You're going to take two more. Aggravated damage. You are not doing well. But you are still alive. [01:41:32] Speaker C: Yeah, barely. I don't think alive is a word that can be used. [01:41:39] Speaker A: All of you surface in the water. Seeing Felix bleeding in the water. You are near the boat. You got out of the cave a lot faster than you thought you would. But at what cost? [01:41:54] Speaker E: He's gonna go into shock. Get him in the boat. [01:41:56] Speaker C: Come on, we gotta go. [01:41:58] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. No. Gonna reach over Grab Felix and just heave them into the boat as fast as I can. I really, really hope I'm not dislocating anything or fucking anything up worse than it's already fucked up, but here we go. [01:42:12] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm trying to push them in and help it along as quickly as possible. [01:42:16] Speaker A: Absolutely. You all move Keith frantically into the boat. As one of you hits the acceleration on that boat, launching forward across the water. And Keith, for a brief moment, you feel from this blade, this blade of seems to be a creature named Vorvidas. You have finally been given a sort of singing sensation, followed immediately by a thunderous clap of explosion from the island behind you. As you watch a plume of flame burst forward from the cave. As the rocks inside start to fall crashing down. It's hard to tell if it worked. It's hard to tell if if it completely destroyed this creature without going back to confirm a kill. But you do know that if you didn't completely destroy it, you have blocked it off. Anything that might be able to get to it is going to have a hell of a time getting to it. With no food supply, it may starve itself out by the time anything does get to it. At the bare minimum, you've cut off the sea God from this town. And Keith. The singing sensation dies down and a feeling of satiation comes over. Something about that felt personal as you all make your way back to the shore, delicately getting Felix off of the boat. You're going to need to get Felix either to a hospital or some other medical attention. Fortunately, Dr. Armitage is a man of science himself, a man of medicine. If he can work a cadaver, one could hope he could heal the body as well. As you all, drive quickly to get your friend, your cellmate, your companion, the medical attention they need. Leaving this town in your wake, leaving the dragon isolated, cut off from its world, you feel a sense of accomplishment. It's not a clean close, but you saw the evil and you addressed it head on. The way that hunters do. [01:45:21] Speaker E: The way. [01:45:22] Speaker A: That hunters always do. And this is where we will close the chapter and close the book on reckoning by the Bay. To thank all four of my hunters here for engaging in this adventure with us. I'd like to thank you, the viewers, for watching. Perhaps we'll open another chapter and another reckoning at some later date. [01:45:45] Speaker D: You all know me, I've been v. With me has been this amazing cast, crew, etc. So I'm just going to let everybody say a few quick things, things about them before we say Goodbye for the evening. First off, we've got Alex. Alex, if people want to see more of you, hear more of the wonderful things you do, or see if you play Keith in any other games, just just not. Not necessarily the. The exact character, but, you know, just the same archetype. Where can they do that? [01:46:14] Speaker B: Sure. So you can find my other works actually here on qcg. I'm usually in the GM seat, but as you'll obviously notice, for today, I am in the player seat. You can also find me on any major social media platform, lexthdm89. I'm pretty much on all of them on Twitter, bluesky, threads, all the rest of that stuff. And just feel free to give me a follow and hit me up. [01:46:42] Speaker D: Wonderful. Awesome. We love to see it and it's nice that, you know, we're not. You're not branching out, away from your roots. The first thing that you ran for King CG was Delta Green. And here we are in Hunter and you've got some cult under your belt. So we've got. We've got all the. All the spooky things and we love to see it. Next up, we have the first of our guests this evening. It's Joe. Joe, if people want to see more of you just being like the sweetest little little guy, where can. Where can they do that? [01:47:14] Speaker C: If y'all want to see me be a cute, sweet little guy, you can do it on all of the major social media platforms under Sugijo. Sometimes there's a seven behind it, sometimes not. Figure it out. It will be a mystery. Otherwise, I have a couple of things coming up that I cannot speak about, but definitely keep an eye out on my social media so. So we can discover together when those will be released and otherwise, please make sure to give all of these lovely people a follow. They've been amazing to play with and I'm so excited for what's to come. Thank you so much, Zach, for your amazing DM skills and all of the players for their amazing characters. I'm very excited. [01:47:58] Speaker D: I think we all parrot that sentiment. 100 in here. To hear somebody else say really nice things, either about Zach or not, we'll go to our next guest of the evening, Abby. If people want to hear more about the things that you do or see more of what you do, where can they do that? [01:48:20] Speaker E: Well, you can check me out on the Burn and Bird website at Enoughabby. I'm doing cultural consultations. I'm doing sensitivity reading. I'm also mostly being a silly little guy on the Internet. You can catch me on the Hype Goblins channel along with Zach as a gay little bat. And you can check me watch. You can check me watching my players fumble around in the world of changeling the lost. I consider myself a pretty good GM for my first time being on screen. [01:48:50] Speaker D: We love to see more folks get behind the GM screen screen because it means that I can put off having to do it again. It's great. It's wonderful. We love it. Now, Speaking of great GMs, great storytellers, tonight's storyteller has been none other than the incomparable Zachary Vato Zach. If people want to see more about what you do, all of the crazy things that you do on the Internet and beyond, where can they do that? [01:49:19] Speaker A: Well, you can find me on Twitter Epidzak. You can find me on Bluesky and Spotify as Sneakernet. I'm also a musician. I make songs for general public, but also theme songs and ambient music for different tabletop streams, possibly even this one to be determined. As for streaming things, you can find me on the Lorekeeper on ATL By Night, where I was also a character for eight seasons. I'm on the Hype Goblins, Luck and Chaos with Abby as previously mentioned. And then I am running games and playing games on so many channels at any given point in time. Gahanna Gaming, Carried in Comfort Studios, Martlet Gaming, Vancouver By Night Cult, Vampire, Werewolf, Dungeons and Dragons, whatever have you. Liminal horror. I just, I've done recently as well. I am, as I usually say, wherever tabletop games are played. [01:50:09] Speaker D: That is true. Zach is everywhere. Anywhere, everywhere, all at once. And of course you all know me, I'm V. You can find me on the Internet at V is for vampire because my name is V and I like vampires. You can also find me over here at Queen Square Games, doing pretty much all the things. You know, we're, we're, we're working on season three of the All Night Society, which means there are two full seasons of great vampire goodness to listen to, the first of which Abby was on playing the wonderful Rebecca Mitchell. So, you know, definitely, if you haven't listened to the world's most award winningest vampire the Masquerade podcast, you definitely should. Why are you even here? Not listening to that right now. You can go start it right after this. It'll be in the recommended videos, I promise. But yeah, so I. And there's always stuff coming out over here. I'm in it. Or sometimes I'm not, but I always do the art for it. So, yeah, if you. If you like what you see, it's probably me. But at this point, we have a lot to unpack, so I think we're going to call it quits here. And. Yeah, until next time. Bye for now. [01:51:28] Speaker A: J.
