[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hello, friends, and welcome to another single serving tabletop adventure from Queen's court games. I am Laura Tutu. Today we are diving back into hellfighters never die, a scenario from Chris Spivey's Harlem unbound for Call of Cthulhu, 7th edition. We will get back into our story shortly, but first, we do have a few housekeeping items. If you are interested in purchasing this game for yourself, go right ahead and throw exclamation point scenario into the chat. And Harlem Hellfighters never die contains certain themes that some viewers may find disturbing or distasteful, including violence, the occult, PTSD, corruption, and gaslighting. As a cast, we have discussed our lines and veils in advance via a session zero, and we have agreed on a code of conduct to maintain a safe and respectful play environment. But we want everybody who's watching at home to be safe as well. And now, without further ado, our table, the one and only Jeff. [00:00:56] Speaker B: Hi, it's me. [00:00:58] Speaker A: Looking dapper, as always. It's Rob. [00:01:02] Speaker C: Hello. [00:01:04] Speaker A: Bringing tired dad energy wherever he goes. It's Christian. [00:01:10] Speaker D: Oh, it's me. [00:01:14] Speaker A: I'm your resident ship poster in chief, the social media nut of QCG, Laura, you know who the hell I am. And of course, we would not be here without this incredible talent that is the noir. No, the noir. Enigma. Good God. [00:01:35] Speaker B: Nailed it. [00:01:36] Speaker D: Flawless. [00:01:37] Speaker A: Nailed it. Links to everyone's assault. [00:01:39] Speaker B: You, Joshua, links to everybody who's a. [00:01:45] Speaker A: Sword in social media accounts can be found by sending exclamation point cast to the chat. I can't look at jazz right now. [00:01:54] Speaker C: I better see flawless in the comments. I don't want to see. I want flawless all across the board, on YouTube and on Twitch. [00:02:05] Speaker A: We are in part four of a multi part adventure. So, like, if you're just kind of joining us now, you're going to be real confused. So what we're going to do is we're going to give you a moment. You can pause, go back to the beginning, start from the top. Meet us back here. [00:02:19] Speaker B: Okay. [00:02:19] Speaker A: So, like, go on. We'll wait. [00:02:29] Speaker B: Y'all set? Y'all caught up? [00:02:31] Speaker D: Great. [00:02:31] Speaker A: Cool. [00:02:32] Speaker B: Let's go. [00:02:33] Speaker A: So we have introduced ourselves. We are ready to go noir. Would you take us back into our story, please? [00:03:43] Speaker B: Sample. [00:04:12] Speaker D: More. So, when we last left off, our heroes had been in the apartment of William Becks and found his body, which was left in a rather grotesque shape. They were able to get in by using. Well, by using the community, by asking the super if he could open the door, which almost led to a disaster as the door was booby trapped with a grenade. But with a little bit of luck, it turns out that that grenade was a dud, which they now have in their possession. As a recall, the party decided, after acquiring a rather strange box that Williams was working on to leave the apartment and to go catch up with Sam at the protest. But upon leaving, Adelaide found lying on the apartment stairs a tarot card from her deck, which was the tower, and scribbled on it was an ominous message to stop searching. So we're going to pick up with our heroes heading towards the protest, meet up with Sam, the leader of the Hellfighters. My question to all of you is, as you're making your way to the protest, are you using Bex's box? [00:05:50] Speaker B: Oh, you mean the weird Geiger counter thing? [00:05:53] Speaker A: Beck's box. [00:05:54] Speaker B: The Bex box. [00:05:55] Speaker D: Yes, the Bex box. Thank you. I wish I thought of it. I did. It's in the book. [00:06:04] Speaker A: Thanks, baby. [00:06:05] Speaker D: Thanks. [00:06:06] Speaker B: Who has it right now? [00:06:08] Speaker C: I do. [00:06:08] Speaker A: Blair, mechanic. [00:06:10] Speaker B: So I suppose that's up to you. I think. [00:06:13] Speaker C: I think, yeah, I think I do still have it. [00:06:16] Speaker D: I'm not. [00:06:17] Speaker C: I don't know where to put this. [00:06:18] Speaker B: Thing out in the open. [00:06:21] Speaker C: I'm just like. It's like I'm acting like it's just another toolbox or just another tool that I would use in my daily job. I have an excuse if I'm asked about it. I just know that. I just know what this thing does, and I know that it'll help us figure out who's after us and what we can do about them. [00:06:46] Speaker D: Well, luckily, you don't have too much explaining to do, because as you're walking through the neighborhood to get to the protest, it's almost as if Harlem is empty. Everybody is at this protest. But as you're walking, the Bex box does begin to chirp a little bit. You're about halfway to the protests when it does start to chirp. So would you like to follow the sound or continue on your way? [00:07:26] Speaker A: Um, that sound, why is it. Why is it. Dwayne? Why is it making that noise? [00:07:33] Speaker C: Means that someone who is radioactive is close by, and the only ones we know who are radioactive are either our boys or the other boys. [00:07:53] Speaker B: 50 50 shot. [00:07:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Um, just point of interest, um, I'm gonna pull the, uh, the tower card from where I hid it in my sleeve. So, um, this. This. This was dropped on our way out. [00:08:13] Speaker D: The box does go off a little bit on the tarot card. [00:08:23] Speaker B: That doesn't seem like a good sign. [00:08:25] Speaker A: No, it means he got to my shop. [00:08:27] Speaker C: Yep. And he's been following. He's. And we know he's been following us. [00:08:32] Speaker A: Mm hmm. [00:08:33] Speaker E: Well, yeah, he shot at us. [00:08:35] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:08:35] Speaker C: Um, I guess he's not done. [00:08:40] Speaker A: No. Especially if we're not done. Oh, I don't believe we are. [00:08:45] Speaker B: What direction is the beeping chirping coming from? [00:08:49] Speaker D: The chirping is coming from behind. [00:08:52] Speaker B: Ah, hell no. That's when we run. Uh uh. You want us to follow the sound that's coming from behind us? That's some white people shit. [00:09:00] Speaker D: No, that's pulp noble stuff. [00:09:03] Speaker C: You can't do that because I know the range is what, 110, 150ft or something like that. If we just turn and just look straight behind us, what do we see? [00:09:16] Speaker D: Go ahead and make me a search. A spot hidden. I could do that. [00:09:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:09:23] Speaker D: Let's go. It begins. This is a hard success. I am going to say off in the distance, you see a very familiar looking black model t. Nope. [00:09:38] Speaker B: Time to go. Time to go. [00:09:42] Speaker A: Do you, do you, Dwayne, did you tell us this? [00:09:45] Speaker C: Oh, like, like you can see, you can see. I turn. I just turn and then I just imagine just that, just that the car drives by and we need to, we need to, we need to, we need, you can just see it like, like this motion. We need to go. Yeah, let's go now. [00:10:10] Speaker B: Okay. [00:10:12] Speaker A: Little scoot and boogie in our boot. Scoot and boogie. [00:10:19] Speaker D: Gonna continue towards the protest. [00:10:21] Speaker B: Yeah, book it. Towards the protest. We're not already outright running with purpose. With purpose. We're not running, but we're moving with just the speedwell. [00:10:29] Speaker C: But I'm keeping an eye on the behind us to see if the range starts to get faster and we're being chased. [00:10:38] Speaker D: With your hard success, you're able to see that the car is keeping the same distance, but it is following. [00:10:48] Speaker C: Gotcha. [00:10:48] Speaker D: But once you get to the area with the protesters, it immediately makes a sharp left and goes away. And the beeping beep, beep stops. [00:11:01] Speaker C: Okay. [00:11:05] Speaker A: Not so bold as to try something with a crowd around. [00:11:11] Speaker B: Going to take out my camera since this is technically part of my job and I should probably do that. [00:11:23] Speaker D: And let's, let's see. Um, I'm going to need you to make me a spot hidden. Uh, yes. I'm going to need you to make me a spot hidden, Ruby. [00:11:36] Speaker B: Oh, great. I'm totally good at that. I'm not going to fail at all. [00:11:39] Speaker D: Oh. Uh hmm. You feel a sudden hand. Ah, hell on your shoulder ages here, Ruby. And you feel your editor appear behind you. [00:12:03] Speaker B: Oh, oh, my gosh, Phil, you scared me. Why would you sneak it up on people like that? [00:12:10] Speaker E: You almost died, bro. [00:12:12] Speaker B: Just. Are you okay? What's wrong? [00:12:18] Speaker D: I need you to go back to the office. There's. [00:12:24] Speaker B: What. [00:12:24] Speaker D: Have you. Have you heard of a a former. A former soldier by the name of Samuel Wright? [00:12:31] Speaker B: Yes. [00:12:33] Speaker D: He came over with the strangest request and went over my head, and they. He's asked to put some sort of advertisement in the newspaper. Here, let me. Let me see if I could read this for you. Eddie goes into his folder. Um, and inside, you see, uh, inside, you see, um, there is a slip of paper, and on the top of it, it says, don't tread on me. And he passes it to you, and, uh, the editor goes, we're going to run this first thing tomorrow morning. The paper said, the note says, I am Captain Samuel J. Wright, retired, a Phoenix squad of the 369th Infantry. I am calling you out, you racist son of a bitch. I did not run during the war, and I am not running now. Lets end this like soldiers and not cowards, if you can even call yourself that. Tonight at midnight at the 369th Infantry Armory, 2023 60 50th 5th Avenue, New York, New York. And that is the end of the note. And Phil looks at you and he goes, I don't know what this is about, but it's. From the rumors that I'm hearing, I don't think it's a smart idea for. [00:14:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, that doesn't sound. Did he hand this to you? [00:14:21] Speaker D: He handed it to me, and a couple of the investors for the paper told me I've got to run it. [00:14:30] Speaker A: Oh, was he. [00:14:33] Speaker B: Is he still here? Did you see him? [00:14:37] Speaker D: No. [00:14:39] Speaker B: Oh. Um. Okay, well, um, I should let you. [00:14:43] Speaker D: Know that when he came into the office, he was pretty heavily armed. I don't. Listen, I I just thought with. I've heard word around town that you've been asking questions and seeing what's been going on. [00:14:58] Speaker B: Never been asking questions. I've just been taking pictures like you told me to. [00:15:02] Speaker D: Ruby? Yeah, I'm an investigator. [00:15:14] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just, you know, we were there, so, you know, I thought I could just. And it involves my brother, and I. [00:15:24] Speaker D: Just, you know, listen, I'm not gonna tell you what to do or what not to do here. I trust your instincts. That's why we hired you for the paper. But you might want to head back to the office and see if there's anything that you can figure out about this, or if you could find Sam, maybe talk some sense into him. I just. I tried to talk to him and he's not listening to me. [00:15:50] Speaker B: Okay. I mean, if you. If you think he's gonna be still at the office, then, yeah, I can go. We can swing by. [00:15:56] Speaker D: Look, I know he. He left, but maybe. Maybe there's something. I don't know, maybe he requested something else or, uh, I just can't think of anywhere else to start. [00:16:09] Speaker B: Yeah, no, it's okay. Um. Okay, I guess. Are you gonna stay here and cover the protests then? [00:16:17] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. [00:16:19] Speaker B: Okay. Um. [00:16:21] Speaker D: You could tell. You could tell something's a little off with that. Yeah. Yeah. If you would like, I will give you a psychology or a psychoanalytic, uh, analyst, uh, test. [00:16:35] Speaker B: Let's figure out what's going on. [00:16:37] Speaker D: My boss. [00:16:39] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Uh, it's not, you know, I was doing pretty good the first, you know. [00:16:46] Speaker D: Three or four sessions. [00:16:47] Speaker B: I'm chopping out now, able to get. [00:16:49] Speaker A: In on that because we're all listening in this combo. [00:16:52] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm going to. I'll allow you to do it, but because you're not as familiar with him, it will be a hard check for you. [00:16:58] Speaker B: Right. Okay. It's. [00:17:01] Speaker D: What a shot. [00:17:04] Speaker B: Hey. [00:17:07] Speaker A: Extreme success. [00:17:10] Speaker B: We love to see. [00:17:13] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [00:17:15] Speaker B: Oh, with that. Yeah, yeah. [00:17:19] Speaker D: Like, are you gonna stay here? And he says, yeah, yeah. You can tell that there's some half truth there. And his eyes move to the crowd and there's a couple of people that look back at him in the crowd like a. Give him a nod and he just. Yeah, we're gonna stay here, take care of everything. [00:17:44] Speaker A: Who are the other people? [00:17:47] Speaker D: Who are the other. [00:17:48] Speaker A: The other people? [00:17:50] Speaker D: Um, let's see. Let's give me a spot hidden to see how well you recognize them in the crowd. [00:17:59] Speaker B: This is spooky. [00:18:00] Speaker C: It's still on hard. If you're. [00:18:02] Speaker D: Whoops. [00:18:03] Speaker A: Hold on. That's still on hard. That's another extreme success. [00:18:10] Speaker B: Let's go. [00:18:12] Speaker D: You recognize Fredrico, misses Bishop, and many of JB's band members. [00:18:36] Speaker A: I'm gonna look like. I'm, like, watching Phil pretty closely. Um, it's the. The same thing I do when I'm at the shop. I'm listening to someone talk and I'm watching their body language and I'm watching, like, where their eyes move. Um, so I follow his gaze and clock the people that seem to be returning it, and I'll look back at Phil. So what do you have planned then? [00:19:09] Speaker D: I'll allow a persuade or fast talk. [00:19:22] Speaker E: Any way I could help? Never mind. [00:19:24] Speaker D: Oh, my God. [00:19:24] Speaker B: I love you. Oh, my God. [00:19:28] Speaker A: That is another success. [00:19:30] Speaker C: God. [00:19:32] Speaker E: Wow. [00:19:33] Speaker A: Yeah. So I'll look at Phil. It's like, so what have you got planned? And, Phil, please remember I read people for a fucking living. [00:19:41] Speaker E: Don't play a player. She's very good at it. [00:19:46] Speaker D: Miss. Miss Bishop suggested that we have a few of the younger guys go to the location Sam put down in the paper. We don't leave our own behind, but we got to keep eyes on the police station to make sure they don't do anything to the boys in jail either. What's the mom doing? [00:20:14] Speaker B: I'm sorry. Sorry. Time out for 2 seconds. I thought that the ad that they wanted to run was for tomorrow's paper. Is that right? [00:20:24] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [00:20:25] Speaker B: Okay, so why are they going to. [00:20:28] Speaker D: They're saying they're preparing. Okay, go for tomorrow. [00:20:31] Speaker B: Okay. [00:20:31] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:31] Speaker B: Okay. Thank you. I'm caught up now. [00:20:34] Speaker D: And what. And what you can kind of get by when they say preparing is that they are probably getting weapons in other tufts around town to help help these boys out. [00:20:53] Speaker A: That sounds about right. [00:20:55] Speaker D: Mom. [00:20:57] Speaker B: Shit. Okay, that's kind of scary. Yeah, she kinda. [00:21:06] Speaker C: She can be an angel or a devil, depending on the person. [00:21:11] Speaker A: All right, Phil, you need us to go by the office, then check it out. [00:21:24] Speaker D: I. There's. There's so much happening. I. We just want to make sure that we're taking care of all of our people. Yeah, we know that the cops can't move the boys as long as we got a bunch of people on them. But we also don't want Sam going out there getting himself killed tomorrow. We don't know how many people we could spare here at the police station to go help them or to go help Sam. And there's no reasoning with him. And every time we try to offer to help, he tells me it's. He tells us it sold your business. [00:22:03] Speaker E: Yeah, he's been doing that. [00:22:05] Speaker B: We needed to talk to him anyway, so we might as well. [00:22:09] Speaker A: Yeah, just keep an eye out. The, um. I think the son of a bitch, in reference to Sam's advert there. And I'll give a description of aforementioned honky son of a bitch. [00:22:30] Speaker C: And his car. [00:22:32] Speaker A: And his car. [00:22:35] Speaker D: Okay, give me just a second here. [00:22:40] Speaker B: Oh, God. What? [00:22:43] Speaker C: Might have skipped a few steps. [00:22:45] Speaker D: Uh. [00:22:45] Speaker E: Oh. [00:22:48] Speaker B: Just. [00:22:49] Speaker A: I'm just passing along the information. We're still gonna trot on to the office. [00:22:51] Speaker D: As you should. [00:22:54] Speaker B: We're following the threads keeper, I promise. [00:22:58] Speaker D: No, of course you are. I'm proud of y'all. Y'all are doing a fantastic job. [00:23:04] Speaker B: What is your role? [00:23:05] Speaker D: Good job. [00:23:06] Speaker C: Good job, Phil. [00:23:07] Speaker B: Okay. Phil. [00:23:10] Speaker D: Wait. What did you say this guy looked like? [00:23:12] Speaker B: Uh. [00:23:13] Speaker C: Oh. [00:23:16] Speaker A: Big German, probably. Brittle blonde hair, fucked up face. He had the. The same kind of soldier stance that the rest of them do. [00:23:31] Speaker B: Why? Why? [00:23:36] Speaker D: Oh, no reason. I was just curious. [00:23:40] Speaker A: Phil, are you fucking with me? Are you fucking with me, Phil? [00:23:45] Speaker E: Don't look away, Phil. [00:23:53] Speaker C: This ain't soldier business. So you have no. [00:23:55] Speaker D: Yes. But I might have a lead on where someone of that description might be, but it's nowhere that I'm willing to let you walk into. [00:24:10] Speaker B: We're not gonna walk. Are you kidding me? He's so dangerous. We need to be far away from him. Which why we need to know where he is right now. [00:24:17] Speaker E: Right, and just let other people know not to be there. [00:24:20] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:24:21] Speaker D: Well, everybody should know not to be there in the. Anyway, just because. [00:24:25] Speaker C: Well, because. [00:24:27] Speaker B: Which is where? [00:24:28] Speaker C: Throw us in the loop. How about that? [00:24:33] Speaker E: I'll say your name again. [00:24:35] Speaker D: The Somerset Hotel. So, East 125th Street, First Avenue. [00:24:41] Speaker C: Yep. [00:24:42] Speaker D: You have a cop hangout. [00:24:47] Speaker B: Okay, well, that's not encouraging, but also not surprising. [00:24:52] Speaker C: Yeah, well, we're not headed there, so. [00:24:55] Speaker B: Yeah, we're not. We're gonna go find Sam. [00:24:57] Speaker D: Well, don't. Don't go there. [00:25:01] Speaker B: Why don't you know where he is? [00:25:05] Speaker D: Because he's a strange white guy around fucking around town. [00:25:08] Speaker C: Fair enough. You know what? [00:25:09] Speaker B: All right, that's. [00:25:10] Speaker C: Yep. [00:25:13] Speaker D: I mean, really, honestly, it was Frederico that got to be curious about him in the first place. Apparently, he saw strange guy coming out of your shop. [00:25:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:28] Speaker E: Wait, Wendy. [00:25:29] Speaker A: For all he was worth, though. [00:25:31] Speaker D: Well, there's. There's that, at least. [00:25:33] Speaker E: When Fred. [00:25:34] Speaker A: Wait, when did that. Yeah. [00:25:39] Speaker D: Not. I want to say maybe a day ago, two days ago? Something about, uh, weird built white guy coming out of your shop and him checking to see if Ruby was there, but he wasn't. [00:26:00] Speaker E: Wait, what? [00:26:01] Speaker D: This is also Ruby. I think he might have a little bit of a crush on you. [00:26:05] Speaker B: I. I mean. [00:26:09] Speaker A: No, it's fine. [00:26:10] Speaker E: It's not fine, JB. [00:26:12] Speaker A: It would have been. It would have been probably right before the rent party. [00:26:16] Speaker D: Ah, yeah. [00:26:19] Speaker B: Yeah, that's right. He visited you. Yeah, that's right. Okay, well, that's. [00:26:26] Speaker C: Well, we know we're not to go, so I appreciate being done there. We're gonna head to the office and see what we can do. [00:26:36] Speaker B: And y'all be careful, too. [00:26:39] Speaker D: Yeah, um, we're just giving up a couple of. Listen, I don't. Atlas, if it's just this one guy, I think just seeing a couple of bodies standing around looking tough, I'd do the trick. [00:26:54] Speaker B: You know, I really don't think so this time. [00:26:57] Speaker A: No. [00:26:58] Speaker C: They'll be on guard. [00:26:59] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:26:59] Speaker A: Please, Phil, he's. [00:27:02] Speaker B: He's. [00:27:04] Speaker A: There's something wrong with that white man. Something right. And I know. Don't I. Don't say it. I know. I know. [00:27:15] Speaker D: I'm. Listen, Harlem's gonna take care of Harlem. We just gotta tell the story of it, you know? [00:27:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:25] Speaker C: Let's get out of here. [00:27:26] Speaker A: Get our asses in gear. [00:27:29] Speaker B: Such a long day. [00:27:30] Speaker D: And don't find yourself in the Somerset Hotel. [00:27:34] Speaker E: We won't. [00:27:35] Speaker B: We won't. [00:27:38] Speaker E: I look back at the crowd. [00:27:39] Speaker B: How'd you get Manny out? [00:27:41] Speaker D: He doesn't leave muffins. [00:27:46] Speaker E: Oh, no. That's fair. Yeah. [00:27:49] Speaker B: Take a couple pictures as we go through the crowd. By the way, just so I have them. [00:27:54] Speaker D: You do see a couple of carts on the back end of the protest. Fresh fruits, baked goods. Have we eaten some? Like, if you want to eat, there's tons of food here. I need to get something freshly cooked, too. [00:28:15] Speaker E: Come on. [00:28:17] Speaker A: Okay, well, grab. Everybody hurt. Move it up. [00:28:21] Speaker E: What y'all want? [00:28:22] Speaker A: No, get the fuck. Go. [00:28:25] Speaker B: Apple cinnamon. [00:28:28] Speaker C: I was like. I imagine I'm looking at my mom and I'm just like, who are you? [00:28:35] Speaker A: Your mother is. [00:28:37] Speaker D: Oh, okay. So you make yourself known to your mom. Cool. She immediately starts to hang over. [00:28:44] Speaker C: Oh, fuck. [00:28:44] Speaker B: Oh, I gotta go. Suddenly I can't be here. [00:28:48] Speaker C: Go, go, go. Save yourself. [00:28:50] Speaker B: Go. Save yourself. Go. Hold on. I'm gonna need dexterity checks for everybody. [00:28:59] Speaker D: It's gonna be hard dexterity checks. [00:29:02] Speaker C: It's gonna be extreme. Hard decks. [00:29:06] Speaker E: Hard decks. [00:29:06] Speaker D: Yeah, hard decks. [00:29:08] Speaker B: Hey. Hey. Get out of here. [00:29:11] Speaker D: Get out of there. [00:29:12] Speaker B: Get out. Deuces, get out of there, both of you. [00:29:19] Speaker D: And so miss Bishop comes over, arms wide, one arm on you, Dwayne. And the other kind of grabs you by the scruff. JV. And she brings you both in for her. [00:29:31] Speaker B: She goes, oh, look at y'all. How y'all doing? I'm so glad to see you safe. [00:29:36] Speaker D: Was that Ruby? [00:29:37] Speaker B: Was that. Was that Ruby? [00:29:39] Speaker D: Was that the girl you were talking. [00:29:40] Speaker B: About on the phone? [00:29:41] Speaker E: Wow. [00:29:42] Speaker D: JB. JB, would you be a sweetheart and tell Ruby to come say hello? Oh, just. Thank you so much. [00:29:53] Speaker C: Oh, no. [00:29:59] Speaker A: I'm straight up just hiding behind the fruit card at this point. [00:30:02] Speaker D: Hiding, just like you dashed become part of the fruit. [00:30:07] Speaker E: Do I even see Ruby at this point? [00:30:11] Speaker B: Go ahead. [00:30:11] Speaker D: Roll me a spot in. [00:30:13] Speaker E: Oh, come on. [00:30:14] Speaker B: Stealth check or something. [00:30:15] Speaker D: I'll let you roll a stealth check? [00:30:17] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. [00:30:18] Speaker D: Whoever stubborn is lowest leads. Ah, fuck. [00:30:22] Speaker C: Ah, fuck. [00:30:23] Speaker A: Oh, wait. That was hard. [00:30:24] Speaker E: That was yours. I still failed, but. Oh, spot. Hand still low. [00:30:33] Speaker D: So, you see, Ruby tried to melt within the crowd, but you see her, and then you see Miss Bishop sees that. You see. [00:30:47] Speaker C: No. [00:30:49] Speaker E: Um. Hey, Ruby, come over here. [00:30:54] Speaker B: Meet Dwayne's mom. [00:30:59] Speaker E: I'm just. [00:30:59] Speaker B: I'm gonna, like. Where's your attitude look like, save yourself, and I'm just gonna make my way up. [00:31:05] Speaker E: I'm looking for my cousin at this point. [00:31:07] Speaker A: Nope, I ain't moving. [00:31:09] Speaker C: Expose them. [00:31:10] Speaker E: I don't think it's gonna work, but I'm going to 100%. [00:31:15] Speaker D: Dang it. [00:31:16] Speaker C: Oh, that's a. That is hard. But that. That's. [00:31:19] Speaker D: Hey. [00:31:22] Speaker B: Do you know how hard this is? [00:31:23] Speaker A: The best of us. [00:31:24] Speaker C: Bring the whole. Bring the whole gang over. [00:31:31] Speaker B: Hi. [00:31:32] Speaker C: Do I be a monster? [00:31:33] Speaker D: Yes. [00:31:34] Speaker E: Yes, I do. [00:31:35] Speaker C: Do I be the monster? [00:31:36] Speaker D: Yes. [00:31:36] Speaker B: This is crap mentality. [00:31:37] Speaker C: I be the monster. No one's getting out for crabs. [00:31:45] Speaker E: Where'd my cousin go? [00:31:46] Speaker C: Where the barrels at? Where the barrel at, Dwayne? [00:31:48] Speaker D: With my cousin. [00:31:49] Speaker E: I can't. She was right here. [00:31:51] Speaker D: Let me paint the picture real quick. [00:31:53] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:31:55] Speaker D: So Miss Bishop grabs Duane, and JB brings them in for a hug, tells JB, go find Ruby. Let her know I'm saying hello. Come say hi. JB goes off, sees Ruby. This bishop sees. You see, looking at Ruby. So now has eyes on Ruby as Ruby, big, tries to disappear in the crowd. And Dwayne just here. [00:32:24] Speaker B: What's good? [00:32:24] Speaker D: What's wrong, Joe? Little friends. [00:32:26] Speaker B: That's so rude. They're not gonna say hi? I was coming over. Okay. [00:32:33] Speaker C: You're right. You have quite the interesting reputation. [00:32:37] Speaker B: Uh, mom, uh, is this your bishop? Hey. Hey. It's so good to meet you. It's good to meet you, too. I've heard a lot about you. A lot a lot about you. [00:32:53] Speaker D: Oh, I hope it's all good stuff. My boy told me so much about you. He's always glowing when he talks about. [00:33:00] Speaker B: I'm so glad to see he's got. [00:33:02] Speaker D: Such good friends in his life. [00:33:05] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. He's really cool. And he's been. He's been helping out a lot. It's. It's. It's really good to meet you. I actually. I'm here for the protest, though. I gotta take some pictures. Oh, okay. [00:33:19] Speaker D: Oh, you like to take pictures? Is that, like, a little hobby or, like. [00:33:24] Speaker B: Oh, no, ma'am. I got a job at the holler. I'm a photographer at the holler. Oh, yeah. [00:33:30] Speaker D: You look a little bit okay. [00:33:35] Speaker B: I love it so much. [00:33:37] Speaker D: One of these days, I'm gonna have to have you take a couple of pictures of me. If you. If you're so willing, of course. [00:33:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I would love to. Just let me know when that would be. That'd be great. [00:33:49] Speaker D: And she gives you the up and down and for, I want to say about 3 seconds. Her eyes, like, she's very friendly, but for a second, for about 3 seconds, it's like, dead serious. She spotted something on your person that just completely flipped, and then she goes right back. [00:34:17] Speaker C: It's a bracelet. Yep. [00:34:18] Speaker B: It's absolutely the bracelet. [00:34:19] Speaker C: It's absolutely that. [00:34:21] Speaker A: Oh, my God. At this point, I like, Dwayne, are. [00:34:24] Speaker B: You still looking for. [00:34:25] Speaker A: Are you still looking for me? [00:34:27] Speaker C: It's. [00:34:27] Speaker D: It's. I think. [00:34:28] Speaker C: I think he sees you and, like, he see, he, like, he doesn't say anything. He's trying to ignore the blow he's trying to do in front of him. He's just looking for solace. Sees where would add he'd be hiding. Just at the fruit stage is like, looking at fruit. [00:34:46] Speaker A: Like, yeah, just like, I was just. I'm looking at apples, and I don't know. [00:34:50] Speaker C: Same apple for the fourth time. That same apple. [00:34:53] Speaker B: Yep. [00:34:55] Speaker E: It's like, it's Wayne with my cousin. [00:34:58] Speaker C: He's looking at them like, it's no leg way. There's no through line. There's no conversation. [00:35:03] Speaker E: He's just, excuse me 1 second. I go grab. [00:35:07] Speaker D: Actually, I'm gonna need you to make me an extreme Dexter check to get. [00:35:15] Speaker C: Not get swallowed by the crowd. [00:35:16] Speaker D: Oh, that's escape. That's not possible. [00:35:29] Speaker B: That's not. [00:35:32] Speaker D: On your way to your cousin, someone bumps into you hard, and you kind of fall on the ground, and you see a shaggy haired fellow look down at you go, yeah, you walk as well as you play. And you recognize from the party, the trumpeter from the rit party, looking at you just kind of smuggle. [00:36:05] Speaker E: I stand up, dust myself off. [00:36:08] Speaker A: JB. [00:36:11] Speaker B: Get up. [00:36:12] Speaker E: JB, you raggedy bitch. [00:36:19] Speaker D: You call me raggedy when you wearing your two cent bowtie. [00:36:24] Speaker E: Real, motherfucker. Real, real, yo. Real, recognize. [00:36:28] Speaker C: Real. [00:36:28] Speaker E: And you look kind of unfamiliar right now, so you may want to just carry your little two cent horn ass home. [00:36:35] Speaker D: Oh, so you have a hard time seeing. No wonder you play like shit. Can't read the music, huh? [00:36:42] Speaker E: Man, I read music better than you any day in a motherfucking week. [00:36:45] Speaker D: You don't want none. You don't want none. You don't even got you. You don't even got your tool with you. [00:36:54] Speaker E: Motherfucker, I would end your ass right here. But we got family. Matter of fact, it's all right. We can do this. [00:37:03] Speaker B: Whatever. [00:37:04] Speaker D: Oh, no, it's cool. It's cool. I know you can't handle performing in front of a crowd. That's why your band ain't even got a name yet. [00:37:13] Speaker E: Eyes will always be here, motherfucker. And if you want to listen closer, then I'll punch him in the face. [00:37:20] Speaker D: Yes. [00:37:21] Speaker B: Go ahead. [00:37:21] Speaker D: Enroll me a brawl. [00:37:23] Speaker E: Yeah, my brawl is not very high. Whatever. I'm going to punch this man to finish. [00:37:27] Speaker D: It's just a regular. [00:37:29] Speaker E: It's still not very high. I don't care. [00:37:32] Speaker C: Give our man a bonus for gumption. [00:37:35] Speaker E: I will. I don't care. [00:37:36] Speaker B: Yeah. I just really love this. I love Ruby, JB stalking bitches in the middle. [00:37:43] Speaker D: So you swing and he ducked out of the way. The crowd around you kind of backs up to give you all space. And you just hear somebody in the crowd going. And they going, you know, you don't need this. [00:37:56] Speaker B: No, the fuck you ain't. [00:37:58] Speaker A: I'm gonna like. [00:37:59] Speaker B: That's. [00:37:59] Speaker A: That's enough to get me to stop hiding. I'm just gonna march in between these two uppity idiots. [00:38:05] Speaker E: I'm gonna swing at him again. I don't care. [00:38:07] Speaker B: No, you're not. [00:38:08] Speaker D: Go for it, your cousin. [00:38:10] Speaker E: No, you have to get to me first. [00:38:13] Speaker D: I'll go ahead. Erode me a dexterity to see if you're able to get to a before JB. Thus. [00:38:20] Speaker B: Oh. [00:38:23] Speaker C: Oh, girl, please. [00:38:25] Speaker D: The story. Now go ahead and roam your brawl to see if you. If you succeed. But your number is. If. If you succeed and your number is lower than 50, you'll get the punch off. But if 50 beats whatever you roll, then LA gets to control how this plays out. [00:38:49] Speaker E: You have no clue how much I want this to work. My goal is not very high, but I want this to work so bad. [00:38:55] Speaker C: Let's go, let's go, let's go. [00:38:59] Speaker E: If I get low enough, I will use luck. [00:39:01] Speaker B: I'm just letting you know you're valid as hell. [00:39:05] Speaker E: I have not rolled yet. [00:39:06] Speaker B: Have not. Can't punch a Nazi, but can punch our actual marvel. [00:39:13] Speaker E: I know I could beat him in playing contest. My brawl is not so high. [00:39:17] Speaker C: Let's see. [00:39:20] Speaker E: That'd be a 23 for out of 25. [00:39:24] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [00:39:25] Speaker E: I'm about that life. [00:39:27] Speaker D: Adelaide. You get there, and rightly, your arms are around his shoulders to stop him. He just gets the smoothest right hook off. And you just see this dude go down, and then you have JB in a whole. The whole crowd goes, ooh, I'm gonna. [00:39:50] Speaker A: Throw my dumbass cousin back, you dumb motherfucker. Starting shit in front of the fucking precinct, and you gonna round on the other dumb motherfucker. [00:40:04] Speaker B: If you ever, ever, ever step to. [00:40:10] Speaker A: My cousin again, I will take your balls. I'll put them in a curio jar and put them on my fucking shelf. [00:40:18] Speaker B: Do you understand me? [00:40:21] Speaker D: You see instinctively. Instinctively, when he hit the floor, he reached in his pocket and you see a little the handle of a stiletto in his hand, but he has it. He hasn't flipped the blade yet. And he goes, all right, I'll be. [00:40:40] Speaker E: Seeing you last, Jaws. Can't play trolling, motherfucker. [00:40:47] Speaker D: Talk that shit when you ain't got somebody watching your back, punk. [00:40:54] Speaker B: JB. [00:40:55] Speaker D: JB. [00:40:55] Speaker A: JB Williams? [00:40:56] Speaker B: Johnny, shut up. They're not usually like this. I promise. Well, actually, Addie, they are always like. [00:41:05] Speaker C: They are. [00:41:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:07] Speaker C: Yeah, they are like that. Mm hmm. [00:41:09] Speaker B: I it's really nice to meet you, misses Bishop. [00:41:12] Speaker D: Lovely. Lovely to meet you, too, Ruby. [00:41:15] Speaker B: Hi. [00:41:16] Speaker A: Hi, misses Bishop. [00:41:17] Speaker C: Sorry. [00:41:17] Speaker E: Misses Bishop. [00:41:19] Speaker D: Hi. Oh, no, you don't have nothing to be sorry for. Except for that first punch. [00:41:25] Speaker E: Fair enough, miss official. I have no excuse for that. [00:41:31] Speaker D: Yeah, you got it. You got to turn from the hip, baby. [00:41:34] Speaker E: Yeah. The first one was out of rage. The second one was necessary. [00:41:43] Speaker C: We have business to attend to. [00:41:45] Speaker D: That was part of the business. [00:41:47] Speaker C: No. If we're done giving lessons, I think it's time we handle the business we're given. [00:41:54] Speaker B: Misses Bishop. [00:41:54] Speaker A: It's real nice to see again. We'll probably be back around later. I've literally. I've got JB scruffed like a puppy at this point. [00:42:02] Speaker B: It's lovely to see you, too, Adelaide. [00:42:04] Speaker D: Make sure y'all get food before you go off doing whatever business you doing. And don't do nothing stupid. [00:42:11] Speaker A: Too late. [00:42:12] Speaker B: Bye. Bye. [00:42:14] Speaker D: Bye. [00:42:16] Speaker C: And I think I just give my mom the like, as everyone's leaving, I give my mom the I know you know something. Look. [00:42:26] Speaker D: Um, as you turn around to go join your friends, her hand is on your shoulder and there's no pressure. [00:42:35] Speaker C: Uh huh. [00:42:35] Speaker D: It still feels like an iron weight because you know that. You know that we got to have a quick talk kind of deal. [00:42:42] Speaker B: Yep. [00:42:44] Speaker D: And she leaves it there. As your friends walk a little bit of distance, she goes up. That ruby is a sweet girl. [00:42:53] Speaker C: She is. [00:42:55] Speaker D: I like her. I like her for you, too. [00:42:58] Speaker C: No, you do. [00:43:02] Speaker D: Hey, tell me a little bit about her family. [00:43:05] Speaker C: Soldiers. [00:43:10] Speaker D: Belfatus yeah. [00:43:15] Speaker C: And I think. [00:43:16] Speaker D: I think. [00:43:17] Speaker C: I think he scratches his wrist like. I think I scratch my. Like that to, again, signify that I know that she knows something. [00:43:29] Speaker D: Can I ask you something, son? And I know it's gonna sound strange. [00:43:32] Speaker C: But I've had a very strange two days. Ma. You can ask me literally anything. I might have an answer for it. [00:43:45] Speaker D: Does it feel wrong? Like, in the air? Does it feel wrong? [00:43:55] Speaker C: Yes. It's. [00:44:00] Speaker D: It's kind of maddening that nobody else around feels it. Like you feel it, right? [00:44:07] Speaker C: I mean, I guess, but at the same time, I don't really want everyone to kind of feel this way. [00:44:19] Speaker D: You hear any, uh. You hear anything? Speak to your spirit? [00:44:35] Speaker C: That's actually the weird question. I mean, I want to make sure that these guys get out okay. And I want to make sure that we all stick together. And if that's spirit, then I guess spirit of that is kind of leading me forward. I mean, as you know, I'm not one to taking extracurricular activities like this. [00:45:00] Speaker D: Yeah, sometimes you don't have a choice. Sometimes it just chooses you, you know? All right, well, I'm gonna send you back into the world, son, but, uh, sometimes. Sometimes you just gotta listen to that thing that. That's in you, that knows, you know? [00:45:26] Speaker C: Yeah, I think instinct and all that. Just gotta hope my instinct leads us to safety, I guess. [00:45:37] Speaker D: Y'all all got little pieces I can see. Just gotta put the whole thing together. All right. You gone off? [00:45:51] Speaker C: Look, your mom gets around the temple, go in my head, and then head off to catch up with everybody. [00:46:06] Speaker D: I will give you a choice from that conversation. You can either roll a string spot hidden. [00:46:16] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:46:17] Speaker D: And the cult. [00:46:19] Speaker C: Mm hmm. [00:46:20] Speaker D: Or a Cthulhu mythos. [00:46:22] Speaker C: Spy. Hidden. Please. [00:46:23] Speaker D: Okay. [00:46:26] Speaker C: Hard success. [00:46:31] Speaker D: I'm gonna need you to lose one composure. [00:46:44] Speaker C: Sure. [00:46:45] Speaker D: Because when you were having that conversation with your mom, for just a moment, you were certain her eyes were different. And the more you looked at those eyes, the more your mind tried to deny what it was seeing. [00:47:11] Speaker C: Hmm. [00:47:15] Speaker B: Mama, what's happening to you? What the hell? [00:47:19] Speaker D: I don't. [00:47:20] Speaker C: I don't. I think. I think with that trying to ignore what was happening, I think I, uh. I still. I try to shake it off, and I continue to be, like, the vanguard for everybody else with the beck box, making sure that we're not being followed. [00:47:35] Speaker D: All right. [00:47:35] Speaker C: But I'm just trying to shake off that imagery of, like, my mom could be weird. No. Get out of here. No, that's weird. That's strange. That's stupid. [00:47:47] Speaker D: All right. And so you catch up with the crew, and you're all heading towards the office of the Harlem Holler, which the Somerset hotel is on the way. [00:48:05] Speaker B: Of course it is. Of course it is. [00:48:08] Speaker D: And as you start to pass by the Somerset Hotel, the box starts ringing. You can choose to follow where the box leads or continue heading to the newspaper headquarters. [00:48:36] Speaker C: And look at that hook. Doesn't that. Doesn't that look delicious? Nice looking hook right there, by the. [00:48:45] Speaker D: Way. [00:48:48] Speaker E: Box is making noise again. [00:48:51] Speaker B: Yeah. See that, uh, which way means lots. [00:48:56] Speaker C: Something radioactive definitely in there. It's. How strong is the signal? Is it, like, going as crazy as it was before with the car? Or is it, like, much more aggressive? [00:49:09] Speaker D: Much more aggressive. Meaning that the car was, like, at the edge of its range. [00:49:14] Speaker C: But this is, like, ringing. Ringing. [00:49:17] Speaker B: Well, hold on. Because the thing is that we only know of one bad guy, I guess, in this. So unless he was, like, soaked through with it, that's more so than anything we've encountered. Then isn't it more likely that maybe some of our missing people are in there? I'm not saying that's the case. I'm just saying as far as, like, odds go. [00:49:46] Speaker E: Or at least somebody who knows where people are. Because that means they would have had contact with them as well. [00:49:50] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:49:52] Speaker C: Or it could be more than one white boy. [00:49:54] Speaker B: Or it could be more than one white boy. Yeah, but I did. Well, the thing is that, like, you know, why wouldn't they just send more out then? Why just this one guy? [00:50:07] Speaker C: I mean, maybe they are. We just haven't seen them yet. I mean, they also. [00:50:11] Speaker B: The white people walk around Harlem. [00:50:14] Speaker C: It's true that maybe. I don't know. And they do have ghosts on their side, so. [00:50:20] Speaker B: Exactly. So, you know, that's just. It's just a thought. It was just a thought. We had to find Sam. We really. We were told, you know, so many times not to go into that hotel, like, so many times. [00:50:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay, so, like, keeper, hypothetically, if Dwayne has the. The backs box out and it's making noise, is it. Are we at, like, the front of the hotel, or are we at, like, the side door? What's the. [00:50:51] Speaker C: You're. [00:50:51] Speaker D: You're about at the side. Uh, you just passed the front office where they have the little cafe area. Uh, I will allow you to roll a spot hidden to see if you like. Just take a quick look inside to see what's there. However, if you do choose to do the spot hidden, there may be consequences if you fail. [00:51:16] Speaker B: How about. Okay, here's here's another question. If we entertain this possibility of actually going inside. Oh, no, I'm sorry. I failed that. [00:51:26] Speaker A: I failed that. [00:51:27] Speaker B: I could have. I could have finished my second. Could you turn the volume down on that thing? [00:51:34] Speaker D: It's just. When I say that it's ringing, it's just noticeable enough for you guys? [00:51:40] Speaker C: It's not. It's not. It's not doing the full Geiger. [00:51:45] Speaker D: All right, would anybody else like to try a spot hidden? [00:51:48] Speaker C: I'll do one. [00:51:50] Speaker B: No, I am not in favor of this. [00:51:52] Speaker C: I have to be. It's good. Oh, no. [00:51:55] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:51:58] Speaker B: So I believe y'all. I will leave y'all. [00:52:01] Speaker A: You're in the shit with us now, babe. [00:52:03] Speaker E: No, I will try. Cause I'm not. [00:52:08] Speaker B: I can't. No, I'm not doing this. I don't want. Oh, my God. I don't want a single part of this. Y'all have fun with that. Okay. [00:52:15] Speaker C: Look at this, man. That cook is fucking delicious. Ooh, ooh, what's that bait on there? [00:52:22] Speaker A: One time it's failure. [00:52:23] Speaker B: Ooh. [00:52:24] Speaker A: Not to tell me no, because I'll do things. [00:52:26] Speaker D: So the first thing that you see, a trigger warning for racial racist content is a big sign that says no colored, Irish, or Catholics. Then you see inside the diner area, three blonde haired, blue eyed NYPD cops eating bagels and donuts and their breakfast in some dinner. And then they see you all looking out the window. [00:52:59] Speaker B: Not me. [00:53:00] Speaker D: And you see one of the cops kind of taps the, like, shoulder taps the other, and gets up and they're starting to head towards the door to make their way to all of you. What would you like to do? [00:53:15] Speaker B: I am already down the street. I did not stop. I told you I would leave you. [00:53:21] Speaker C: You did. You said this. You said it. [00:53:23] Speaker D: Live recording. Okay, so just go ahead and roll me a stealth check. Ruby. [00:53:32] Speaker C: Yeah? You with us? You can't escape this. [00:53:36] Speaker B: Can I just duck around the corner? [00:53:39] Speaker D: Okay. [00:53:39] Speaker B: Hey. [00:53:40] Speaker C: Did in fact duck around the corner. [00:53:42] Speaker A: Apparently you can. [00:53:43] Speaker D: Why? Okay, so you see, y'all are looking. The cops see you looking. Get ready to come out to confront you, Ruby. [00:53:57] Speaker C: Oh, dips. [00:54:00] Speaker D: What would y'all like to do before this cop makes it to the door? [00:54:04] Speaker A: Oh, shit. They don't look happy. We should keep walking. [00:54:09] Speaker B: We were just. [00:54:10] Speaker A: Yeah, we know. We were just. [00:54:11] Speaker B: You know what? [00:54:11] Speaker A: We pause, detect the time. We're gonna keep going. [00:54:13] Speaker E: I hadn't seen that song before. I don't like it. I think we should go. [00:54:17] Speaker A: I'm gonna grab. Grab my cousin and grab twain. I'm gonna keep walking. [00:54:22] Speaker D: And as you keep walking, the door opens and goes. Now, where do you think you're going? [00:54:35] Speaker A: Down the way, officer, I think I'm. [00:54:39] Speaker D: Gonna need to see some idiot. I think I'm gonna need to see. I think I'm gonna need your names. [00:54:47] Speaker C: I mean. I mean, I have this fucking box in my hands. [00:54:55] Speaker B: Not threatening at all. [00:54:56] Speaker C: Not threatening. It all going off like a Geiger counter would. I have my tools, and I just, like, go into my toolbox. You allow me? [00:55:07] Speaker D: Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. First off, what's that do kicky you got there? [00:55:17] Speaker C: Science experiment, sir. [00:55:19] Speaker D: You mean to tell me you're doing science? [00:55:24] Speaker C: I'm a mechanic. So. [00:55:25] Speaker D: Comes with a job. Why don't you hand that over? [00:55:31] Speaker C: Kind of isn't for my job, actually. [00:55:33] Speaker D: I don't like to have to tell people to do things twice, Sonic. [00:55:43] Speaker C: And, uh, don't hand it over. I mean, it's going. It's going off. [00:55:48] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [00:55:49] Speaker B: I would like to do something when you will allow me to. [00:55:53] Speaker D: Okay, so he had. He now has the bex box in his hand. Ruby, what would you like to do? [00:55:58] Speaker B: Okay, so essentially what I did was as soon as I saw them stopping and looking, I was like, uh uh. [00:56:04] Speaker D: That'S a bad idea. [00:56:05] Speaker B: And so I went that way. I just continue power walking. And I ducked around the corner and I went all the way around the. [00:56:12] Speaker A: Building to come back this way. [00:56:15] Speaker D: Okay, so you're behind where the copies? [00:56:17] Speaker B: I'm behind where they are now. [00:56:18] Speaker D: Okay. [00:56:19] Speaker B: And what I'm going to do is I'm going to, in my whitest voice, say. [00:56:28] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [00:56:29] Speaker D: Microphone did pick up any of your whiteness, but I'm going for the best. I get what you're doing. So you do that, and then I'm. [00:56:41] Speaker B: Gonna run the other direction back around the building. But I do want to make it, like, seem like it's coming from down the way. [00:56:51] Speaker D: I will give you persuasion or fast talk. [00:56:57] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [00:56:58] Speaker D: But it is going to be at extreme. [00:57:01] Speaker B: Why? [00:57:04] Speaker D: You'll find out in just a bit. [00:57:05] Speaker B: I don't like that. Why would you do that to me? Fast? What is my fast talk? Oh, not as good. Okay, that's fine. Well, not a lot I can do about that. [00:57:21] Speaker D: They completely ignore. Ignore your calls for help. [00:57:28] Speaker B: They didn't hear my whiteness. [00:57:29] Speaker D: And you all hear the cop called Murphy. And the other cop from inside comes out, goes, look at what, uh. Look at what I found off of this guy here. And the other cop looks at it. Yeah, that looks. [00:57:50] Speaker A: That looks like. [00:57:50] Speaker D: What the. Uh, yeah. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. So, uh, where'd you get this from, son? [00:58:03] Speaker C: My neighborhood, sir. It, uh, accounts for radiation. [00:58:13] Speaker D: Yeah. We're gonna take this off your hands. [00:58:20] Speaker C: It's going. It is going on. It is going off. So perhaps there is an emergency inside. [00:58:27] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, yeah, a real emergency. Yeah, we got that. Uh. Hmm. Who would like to roll a luck check for the group? [00:58:36] Speaker C: What does it say on their badges? Does it say, like, what. What precinct does it say on their. [00:58:39] Speaker B: Badges say for the group? [00:58:41] Speaker D: 30 seconds. Ah, there it is, motherfuckers. [00:58:48] Speaker C: Who've got the best. Who's got the best luck? [00:58:51] Speaker B: That's me, actually. But again, am I included in that? [00:58:54] Speaker D: Uh, yeah. No. [00:58:58] Speaker B: I mean, yes. [00:58:59] Speaker D: Well, I'll put it like this. If you choose to roll for it, you're. You're in it with the group. [00:59:08] Speaker C: I'm with us. Be hooked. [00:59:10] Speaker A: Do you want to be part of this group or not? [00:59:12] Speaker C: Be hooked in family. Neighborhood. [00:59:17] Speaker B: No, I'm kidding. Of course I'll roll for you. But if this goes like ass, you can't blame me for it. Okay? [00:59:26] Speaker E: I will try to spend. [00:59:27] Speaker C: Hey, we're good. [00:59:29] Speaker E: We're fine. I think. [00:59:31] Speaker C: I think, hopefully. [00:59:32] Speaker D: I hope. [00:59:32] Speaker C: Here's hoping. [00:59:33] Speaker D: The two cops look at each other and go, so, what, are we gonna do it all shamble? Yeah. [00:59:48] Speaker B: Can I just, like, break a car door or something? [00:59:51] Speaker D: No, I. I mean, you. Can. [00:59:59] Speaker A: I. Wait, he's. He said, what now? [01:00:03] Speaker B: Roast and bow. [01:00:04] Speaker C: We're gonna roast shambo for it, and we're just washing them. Roast shampoo for it. [01:00:09] Speaker D: And Murphy wins. And he goes, let him go. I don't feel like doing the paperwork. And we already got a bunch of. We already got a basement filled, and I don't think we need it to smell any worse than it already does. Right? [01:00:25] Speaker B: Just saying it out loud. [01:00:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:00:27] Speaker D: They're terrible people. [01:00:28] Speaker B: Wow. He's just out here saying, we have negroes in the basement. JB. [01:00:34] Speaker A: Jimmy, you're gonna want. You're gonna want to take a look at your cousin. [01:00:43] Speaker E: The slowest look at my wonderful cousin, who immediately sees, like, that plain face of full rage, like, literally, the face you just saw. [01:00:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:00:58] Speaker E: What are we doing, cousin? [01:01:04] Speaker D: How's my cousin? [01:01:04] Speaker C: Look. [01:01:08] Speaker A: It was taking everything in my body to not mouth off to the white man digging my fingernails into my palms. But. [01:01:30] Speaker B: Does. [01:01:31] Speaker A: Does he still have. Does he still have the fucking bex box? [01:01:35] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. And they have it. Murphy wins and goes, ah, but let him go. Says the horrible things and they start to head back to the dining area of the hotel. And then. [01:01:52] Speaker A: Officer. [01:01:56] Speaker D: Oh. Oh, boy. Here we go. Yes, ma'am. [01:02:03] Speaker A: I was just wondering if you were gonna give my friend his contraption back, since I'm not certain why it's been being confiscated. [01:02:13] Speaker D: Oh, forgive me. Perhaps you didn't hear too good. I said we're gonna hold on to this. I also said I don't like to say things twice. And now I've said that I'm gonna hold on to it twice. Ah, dang it, Murphy. That's three times. Ah, yeah, that's three times. And you don't like saying things twice. He hates saying it three times. That might be a problem for you. Now, we will be in such. Such wonderful, gracious police officers letting you and your little gang of folks here go off with just a warning. But you're really pushing my hand here. If I have to say. If I have to tell you to fuck off again, you might be giving yourself a ride with the rest of your. [01:03:06] Speaker C: You don't mean any dangers, you don't mean any harm, you don't mean to annoy. Just a curiosity, officer. [01:03:19] Speaker D: Why are they talking to us like they think we give a shit what they have to say? You know, they're starting to get unruly. They. There's a bunch of them at the precinct, and now. Now they're coming here. We're trying to enjoy a nice dinner while we're on patrol, and. And they're fucking it up for us. So you all have the right to remain silent. Anything you say. Can it. [01:03:49] Speaker B: What is this? [01:03:50] Speaker C: What is this? [01:03:57] Speaker B: All right, um, running. I should not be doing this. [01:04:07] Speaker A: So are we. Are we using the distraction to fucking book it? [01:04:10] Speaker C: Just all run? [01:04:11] Speaker A: Well, I have to. [01:04:13] Speaker D: I have to pull them up now. [01:04:17] Speaker B: No, you don't. No, you don't. [01:04:18] Speaker A: You can just let me have it here. [01:04:20] Speaker C: This could be a narrative check of. We did it. It's done. [01:04:24] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:04:25] Speaker B: Can I use. Can I use my. [01:04:27] Speaker A: Can I use my success, my hard. [01:04:29] Speaker B: Success for my luck? [01:04:34] Speaker D: That was already used to get you out of being immediately arrested. Okay? So let's go ahead and we're gonna roll. Wow. They're actually really not good at their jobs. Good. [01:04:52] Speaker B: That's a good thing. [01:04:53] Speaker D: That's a good thing. [01:04:54] Speaker A: Really? [01:04:55] Speaker B: You should also give them their jobs. What? [01:04:57] Speaker C: Should also give them a penalty. Yeah. [01:05:00] Speaker E: Yeah, that's good. [01:05:02] Speaker B: Bonus. [01:05:03] Speaker D: Whichever you're. You're breaking car doors and they just want. [01:05:08] Speaker B: They can't see me. [01:05:09] Speaker D: Yeah, they can't hear you either. Is the problem. Oh. You all have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. And they immediately go for Dwayne. First, I'll hop in the car. They are going to attempt to push you against the wall. First off, do you resist? [01:05:37] Speaker C: Okay, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna resist. [01:05:41] Speaker D: Okay. They just push you against the wall, and they begin the process of handcuffing you. Oh, come on, JB Murphy. The other one is getting ready to do the same to you. Would anybody like to do anything? [01:06:03] Speaker E: I 100% look at Dwayne. Like, what should I do right now? I think if I look at my cousin, I'm going to start swinging. [01:06:10] Speaker C: I look at Dwayne as I'm being. The first link is going on me. Can I use a strength to push them off? Push him into the other officers and just go run. [01:06:27] Speaker D: Because of the position that you're in this, I'll allow you to do a strength check, but it is going to be hard. [01:06:34] Speaker C: Okay. [01:06:35] Speaker A: And I. Can I help in any way, shape or form? By causing. By being a general goddamn noose. [01:06:42] Speaker D: You would have to physically get involved in order to give Dwayne a bonus. Die. [01:06:48] Speaker B: Shit. [01:06:48] Speaker D: Okay, so is that what you'd like to do? [01:06:58] Speaker C: Welcome to horror game. [01:07:00] Speaker E: Welcome to horror game. It depends on what happens, because I. It's possible I'd be, like, just running? [01:07:07] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:07:08] Speaker A: Yeah. Wayne, are you gonna do the thing? [01:07:11] Speaker C: I'm gonna. I'm gonna push them against one of them. I'm gonna try. [01:07:16] Speaker D: Okay, go ahead. [01:07:18] Speaker C: Roll. [01:07:19] Speaker D: A strength at a hard difficulty. [01:07:22] Speaker C: At a hard difficulty. [01:07:29] Speaker B: Come on. [01:07:31] Speaker D: Okay, so you push. [01:07:33] Speaker B: Fuck you. [01:07:34] Speaker D: And he immediately pulls out a service. First off, are we okay with where this is going? I mean. Yep. [01:07:42] Speaker B: I'm not. I mean, yes, I am, but I'm just saying from, like, emotional. [01:07:46] Speaker D: Okay. [01:07:46] Speaker B: Protesting standpoint. [01:07:48] Speaker D: Okay, he. All right, I'm just. I'm just doing the ocheck. He does pull out his service weapon, and he's pointing it towards you. Come on, settle down. Settle down. Um, Mer, the other cop immediately does the same. Now there are two cops holding their weapons at you and going, not so tough now, are you? Uh, I. Listen, we were trying to be nice. We tried to give you an out, and then you had to act up. Yeah. I don't know why you all. Why you always do this. You know, we try to give you an inch, you try to take them out, and then we end up like this. [01:08:36] Speaker C: Officer, you proved your point. Officers, please. [01:08:39] Speaker D: I proved my point. What's my point? What's my point? [01:08:42] Speaker C: You're better, stronger and faster than us. [01:08:45] Speaker D: Hey, this is starting to catch on. [01:08:49] Speaker C: Please, we just want to go on our way. Give me no trouble at all. [01:08:56] Speaker D: What do you think? You think they're not gonna be any trouble? I don't know. They've been pretty trouble. Pretty trouble oriented all night. How much money you got on you? [01:09:12] Speaker C: And feel free to take it all. [01:09:17] Speaker D: Okay. Okay. Um. They start frisking you. Question who has the grenade? [01:09:25] Speaker B: Wayne? [01:09:26] Speaker C: It's in my toolbox. [01:09:29] Speaker D: Okay. [01:09:30] Speaker E: I think. Did you drop the toolbox while they were like. [01:09:33] Speaker C: Yes. Oh, my toolbox is on the side. Yeah. [01:09:34] Speaker E: Okay, so it's probably closer to me at this point. [01:09:37] Speaker D: Okay, you step closer. [01:09:39] Speaker E: So I have toolbox. I would slide it back. [01:09:41] Speaker C: I don't have. I have a grenade in my pocket. [01:09:43] Speaker D: That's outrageous. [01:09:45] Speaker B: No, you won't. [01:09:46] Speaker A: You don't keep that in your fucking pocket. That's like. [01:09:48] Speaker D: Yeah, all right. So they're frisky. They're frisky you for money. JB, the toolbox is by you. What would you like to do? [01:09:57] Speaker E: Just stand in front of it. I'm just gonna make. Because it's right next to me. I just move closer and stand in front of it. I'm standing there with guns have been drawn. This isn't funny anymore. [01:10:10] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:10:10] Speaker E: And I'm. Fear has slightly edged out anger. Just slightly. But I'm just in front of it, just. And I will talk my way out of anything else because his money should be on his person instead of in his toolbox. [01:10:28] Speaker C: And I should have. And I should have quite a bit of money, considering I make drugs. [01:10:34] Speaker D: Unfortunately, you all see this. They go in your wallet and they take everything. [01:10:41] Speaker C: Take it off. Take it all. [01:10:44] Speaker D: Hey, you. You're next. And the other cop is going to uj B to take your money as well. [01:10:53] Speaker E: Front pocket. [01:10:55] Speaker D: All right. Uh, Ruby, you're. You're. You're some distance away, and you do see this all happening. What would you like to do? [01:11:06] Speaker B: Okay, first and foremost, I understand that they couldn't hear me. I would like to say, though, that every car that I broke into and broke was a cop car. I just want to put that out there. Okay. Because after the initial, like, well, they aren't paying attention to me, then it's just pure rage. So, yeah, that happened. [01:11:25] Speaker D: I will. Okay, well, I'm very glad that you said that. There are shotguns in the cop cars. [01:11:36] Speaker B: Oh, are there? Hold on, I'm just gonna. [01:11:41] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [01:11:42] Speaker E: Oh, this just got fun. [01:11:43] Speaker C: These hooks don't look fun anymore. [01:11:45] Speaker B: Does anybody have, like, a clip in front of me? [01:11:48] Speaker C: These hooks are quite pointy in several. [01:11:52] Speaker D: Hold on. [01:11:52] Speaker A: We need a coin. [01:11:54] Speaker B: All right. Okay. You have a coin or tails? [01:11:59] Speaker A: I don't know. You pick. [01:12:01] Speaker B: Okay, I'm gonna do heads. I grab one of those, and I shoot somebody with it. And tails is. I grab some of those and I run with them. [01:12:13] Speaker E: Okay, Ruby, this is going. [01:12:17] Speaker C: Can I, like, run? [01:12:19] Speaker B: Can I just be like. [01:12:20] Speaker C: I want the other one. [01:12:22] Speaker D: The shoe one is mad. [01:12:23] Speaker B: Listen. Ah, tails. Okay. I guess I just. I grabbed them. I do want. I want. [01:12:32] Speaker D: There's. There's only two. [01:12:34] Speaker B: There's only two. Okay, then I grab them. I grab them and I will make. [01:12:39] Speaker D: My throw me a luck check, please. [01:12:41] Speaker B: Oh, sure. [01:12:42] Speaker C: One just goes off. [01:12:45] Speaker B: La bow wee. Okay. Extreme success. When I held onto my luck, you know? Anyway. [01:13:00] Speaker A: Yes, I do. [01:13:00] Speaker B: I grab those. I'm too far from the protest, which is where I was going to go. [01:13:06] Speaker D: To grab your mom. [01:13:08] Speaker B: Cause this is something for an adult, and I am not adult enough for this. Also, your mom's a little scary, so that's where I was going to go. I do think instead, though, in terms of, like, distance, are we closer to the holler? Are we closer to the protest? [01:13:26] Speaker D: The holler is about four blocks ahead. [01:13:29] Speaker B: Okay. Then I would have made my way there because that's the closest place I could think of where. [01:13:35] Speaker D: So you ran. So you ran back around? I would run the round. Okay, um. [01:13:42] Speaker B: I'm not trying to be. [01:13:43] Speaker D: So as you pull the two shotguns from the cop cars and you're getting ready to sneak around and you hear what you do it. [01:13:56] Speaker B: Why do I. I'ma. [01:13:59] Speaker A: Look. [01:14:02] Speaker D: You. You know who it is. [01:14:03] Speaker B: It's right. I know who it is. [01:14:08] Speaker D: That's all serious hardware. What the hell are you. They got the way. [01:14:25] Speaker B: Frederico, if you can't. [01:14:26] Speaker D: Don't worry about it. [01:14:27] Speaker B: Okay? Do me a favor. Can you do me a favor? [01:14:31] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:14:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:14:31] Speaker D: What? [01:14:33] Speaker B: Go back. Go back and grab misses Bishop. She'll know what to do. She has to know. [01:14:42] Speaker D: We can't let them take. [01:14:44] Speaker B: I won't. I won't. I'm gonna be following. I'm gonna make sure that they're okay. Okay? But somebody has to. I can't let you. [01:14:49] Speaker D: I can't let you do that by yourself. [01:14:50] Speaker B: Of course you can. [01:14:51] Speaker D: Give me one of the guns. [01:14:53] Speaker B: I'll hand it over. Be safe. Okay? [01:15:01] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [01:15:04] Speaker B: Okay. French, I gotta tell you something. Yeah? I'm gay. So sorry. [01:15:14] Speaker D: No, it's that's, uh. [01:15:17] Speaker B: Yeah. Hey, you know, I, like. I'm really flattered and all, but I really can't. I'm sorry. [01:15:23] Speaker D: That's, uh. I'm happy for you. I, uh. I really like G. I mean, I like you. I mean. I mean, I. But I. I get it. [01:15:35] Speaker B: We can talk about this later. Please go. [01:15:41] Speaker D: Right. [01:15:41] Speaker B: Okay. [01:15:42] Speaker D: Um. Hey, I hope you find somebody that's really sweet on you. [01:15:49] Speaker B: Thank you. You were really sweet, and I know you're gonna find somebody who's really sweet on you, okay? Deserve all of that affection. Okay. Um, stay low, okay? Yeah, absolutely. [01:15:59] Speaker D: Be safe, all right? [01:16:03] Speaker B: Leave them the fuck alone. [01:16:08] Speaker D: You see Fredriko walk out? Um, look, he's. [01:16:20] Speaker B: What the fuck is out of his mind? [01:16:23] Speaker D: And the two cops go, you've gotta be fucking kidding me, right? He goes, leave, leave. Leave them the fuck alone. God damn. [01:16:39] Speaker B: They point their guns at Fredriko, and. [01:16:41] Speaker D: He just shoots right in between them. [01:16:45] Speaker C: Oh, my God. Ain't getting in that hotel. Now. [01:16:50] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:16:51] Speaker D: Now get in your fucking cars and get out of Harlem. This is our town. And the cops. Holster and co. Oh, kid. You just got yourself killed, kid. You just got yourself. I know what you look like. And they back away, and they get in the car, and Frederico goes, yeah, drop it. Cop drops the box. Big hit in the car. And they slowly drive by, both of y'all, and they just look at Fredrico. [01:17:40] Speaker B: Not here. [01:17:43] Speaker D: Head off. [01:17:45] Speaker B: Oh, my God, Freddie, are you out. [01:17:47] Speaker A: Of your fucking mind? [01:17:49] Speaker B: Attractive. I'm, like, weirdly attracted to you right now. What the fuck, Freddie? [01:17:56] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. [01:17:58] Speaker C: We need to go. [01:17:59] Speaker D: I couldn't let. I couldn't look. [01:18:05] Speaker C: But you need to get somewhere safe. [01:18:07] Speaker B: You do. [01:18:07] Speaker D: Somewhere safe now. [01:18:09] Speaker B: You need to hide. Go to the armory. Go to the army. [01:18:11] Speaker E: Yes, yes. [01:18:12] Speaker B: No. [01:18:13] Speaker D: Protect you. [01:18:13] Speaker A: Get out of here. [01:18:14] Speaker B: Get. [01:18:14] Speaker A: Get the fuck out of here before they come back around their buddies. [01:18:19] Speaker C: I'll take the gun he has in his hands. [01:18:22] Speaker D: You take it. Yeah, I'll take it. Jesus, I'm sorry. I just. [01:18:30] Speaker C: Thank you. [01:18:31] Speaker D: You did the fuck out of here. [01:18:32] Speaker E: You did good. [01:18:33] Speaker A: No, you did good, but get the fuck out. [01:18:37] Speaker D: And he starts to back up, and he just looks at you, Ruby, and he goes. [01:18:47] Speaker B: Even though you. [01:18:49] Speaker D: I'm not your type, bro. Really? [01:18:51] Speaker E: This, right now, you. You have somewhere to be? [01:18:55] Speaker B: Let it finish. [01:18:56] Speaker D: Oh, I still like trying to be the kind of guy that I think you'd like, is all. And then he just walks off. [01:19:06] Speaker B: Wait, it's okay. [01:19:09] Speaker E: Is he just walking? [01:19:10] Speaker D: Yeah, he's walking to the armory. [01:19:16] Speaker C: Run. [01:19:17] Speaker D: Damn it. [01:19:18] Speaker C: We also need to run. [01:19:20] Speaker B: We got. Yeah, let's scoop box. [01:19:22] Speaker A: Run. [01:19:23] Speaker D: The box is still going off, and the cops are gone. [01:19:29] Speaker E: I grabbed the toolboxes for now. [01:19:31] Speaker C: Make sure you wanted to fucking get this fucking hook. You want to fucking go? That's literally what he just said to us. You want to go inside? [01:19:47] Speaker B: No. [01:19:49] Speaker D: What is it? [01:19:51] Speaker A: It's still, like, it's still going off. [01:19:53] Speaker D: Yeah, it's blaring. [01:19:57] Speaker E: Ruby, what you got? [01:19:58] Speaker A: Are there other cops? [01:19:59] Speaker B: I broke some. [01:20:00] Speaker A: I broke some cars. [01:20:01] Speaker B: I broke into some cars. Don't worry about it. [01:20:05] Speaker A: I've got the bo. Okay, where's the side door? [01:20:09] Speaker B: Oh, we're going in. Oh, we're going in. [01:20:11] Speaker A: I am. You don't have to follow, but I'm gonna take the box. [01:20:13] Speaker C: I'm not gonna let you go alone. [01:20:16] Speaker A: I'm still walking. [01:20:18] Speaker B: I don't have anything to arm myself. This is ticket. I don't need it. We don't. Why are you taking a shotgun inside? [01:20:27] Speaker C: Just wrap it in your jacket. [01:20:32] Speaker B: Okay. [01:20:33] Speaker D: So you pass by the main entrance that has the no colored irish or catholic sign to greet visitors in the front window. The building is not up to fire code standards. The metal fire escapes are rusty tetanus traps awaiting for anyone brave enough to use them. There's a heavy sheet of snow that coats the fire escape. It's a really frigid evening, and the Bex box does lead you to the second floor of this hotel. You do see that there are some hotel staff members walking around. They don't pay too terribly much attention to you, however. But you also scope the owner of this area, Mason Willis, who is a old, curmudgingly hateful man. Um, you're just barely able to maneuver outside of his sight. Now you're able to follow the beeping sounds all the way up to room 205. Room 205 is spacious, if crumbling. The hotel room contains large streamer trunks stood on its side against the far wall. And on top of the trunk is, well, it looks like a jar with liquid and a brain. [01:22:36] Speaker B: I really hope you weren't gonna say that. [01:22:41] Speaker D: The three pound brain floats in the cylinder in a greenish glowing liquid substance that provides the only light in the room. The golden metallic cylinder seems to undulate in the rhythm with the pulse that goes alongside the readings of the Bex box. I'm gonna need everyone to immediately lose one composure upon seeing this. Um, I'm going to offer Dwayne a mechanical repair check, uh, when you take a look at this brain in a jar. Sure. [01:23:28] Speaker C: Some mechanical repair. [01:23:29] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [01:23:31] Speaker C: Wow. [01:23:32] Speaker B: Take a picture. [01:23:33] Speaker D: So, yeah, you're just looking at this thing, and it. It's just. It's. [01:23:39] Speaker C: Oh, that's fine. [01:23:40] Speaker D: Hard. [01:23:40] Speaker C: I'm sorry, that's on hard. [01:23:41] Speaker D: Oh, okay. Go. Go for a regular roll. [01:23:44] Speaker C: I'm still in cop mode. There we go. [01:23:52] Speaker D: With this, you're able to deduce that this device is preserving the brain. Although there is no discernible power source. [01:24:00] Speaker C: To it. [01:24:04] Speaker D: The rest of the room appears to be empty, other than a radio pouring out static. And an open door leads to what you can only assume is the bedroom. What would you all like to do? [01:24:20] Speaker A: Is this. Is there any sort of, like, woo woo shit about this? [01:24:27] Speaker C: Just. [01:24:27] Speaker D: It's a brain in a jar that's glowing and pulsing, but other than that, you can try a boo lumi fo thrill. Ha. That's. [01:24:37] Speaker A: That's funny. [01:24:38] Speaker B: I'm gonna look around that stuff. [01:24:43] Speaker C: I think I'm. [01:24:44] Speaker D: Why not? [01:24:47] Speaker B: Oh, my God. You're on a roll today. That's success. [01:24:52] Speaker A: That is a four under five. [01:24:55] Speaker B: Wow. Bran, listen, I. [01:25:01] Speaker A: Here's the thing keeper. I I do a lot of reading. [01:25:06] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [01:25:07] Speaker A: And I look at a lot of, like, random shit. It's. It's the best way to spin a yarn is if there's a little bit of truth to it. Right? [01:25:16] Speaker D: Yeah. So what you're able to discover, and I'm gonna put this picture our discord, because with that, you would. You would have seen something like this before. So, ho. That is what you're all looking at. [01:25:41] Speaker E: Oh. [01:25:42] Speaker C: Oh, man. [01:25:45] Speaker B: I can't see that, bro. [01:25:47] Speaker A: I love that. [01:25:49] Speaker B: I don't got my real glasses on. Oh, okay, here we go. [01:25:52] Speaker D: So, you know that this is called a mego brain cylinder. It is a cylindrical, medium sized machine used by the migo to transport humans to yougoth. It contains the living brain vivisected from its host and preserved in nutrient fluid. The cylinder can be connected with various devices that provide the faculties of sight, hearing, and speech to the brain, allowing it to observe and interact with its surroundings. So, from what you've studied, this isn't just a brain in a jar. This is a living brain that, in accordance to your studies, could very well be perceiving everything it's seeing right now. [01:26:43] Speaker B: So we break it. Oh, no, I'm hearing. [01:26:47] Speaker E: Oh, no, no. Oh, no's are bad. [01:26:49] Speaker C: Oh, no, it's very bad. [01:26:51] Speaker A: I think you can see us. [01:26:53] Speaker C: What is this thing? [01:26:58] Speaker A: It's supposed to be bullshit. [01:27:00] Speaker D: Um, we've had a lot of that. [01:27:02] Speaker C: Today. It's yesterday. [01:27:04] Speaker A: It's essentially, it's a living brain, and it may or may not be able to perceive everything that is happening in this room right now. [01:27:14] Speaker D: Leva. [01:27:16] Speaker B: Oh, no. Oh, no. It talks. [01:27:20] Speaker D: Footsteps coming from the bedroom. Okay, and that's where we're gonna take our break. [01:27:29] Speaker B: Also, noir. I was heading there. Oh, I was heading there because I was. I was, like, not touching that ear. So I'm just letting you know that then. [01:27:38] Speaker D: We will. We will pick that up when we come back from break. [01:27:42] Speaker C: I imagine you're like, I don't want to touch that break. [01:27:44] Speaker D: You turn around. [01:27:45] Speaker C: He's walking out. [01:27:45] Speaker B: You're like, oh, fuck. [01:27:48] Speaker A: Okay, so, friends, foes, and fiends, once again, we have fucked around and found out many times. We're about to find out. Sorry, team. I can't resist a plot hook. [01:28:03] Speaker C: It's just so delicious. [01:28:05] Speaker B: It was so tasty. It's right there. [01:28:08] Speaker A: So give us, like, ten minutes. [01:28:09] Speaker B: 15 minutes. [01:28:10] Speaker A: It's usually ten minutes, right? Pretty sure it's ten minutes. We'll be back. So you can see how exactly. Yeah, well, that, or we're just gonna figure out a way to fast talk our way out of this again because it's decently well so far. [01:28:25] Speaker B: What do you mean? We needed a gun last time. Time. Listen, we walked away with two guns. Listen, we'll be back in ten minutes. [01:28:32] Speaker A: Come on back. [01:28:33] Speaker B: Make sure you drink some water. [01:28:34] Speaker A: Make sure you stand up and stretch. We will see you shortly, and hopefully this isn't the episode we die in. [01:28:40] Speaker B: We'll see you bit. Bye. [01:28:43] Speaker A: Welcome back, friends. We are back at the table with Harlem Hellfighters never die by Chris Spivey for call of Cthulhu 7th edition. Um, once again, the table. And by the table, I mean, maybe me. Um, sorry, guys. Um, we fucked around. We're in the process of finding out, all because someone thought that they could roll a Cthulhu mythos roll as a joke and succeeded. Um. [01:29:16] Speaker B: Gonna die. [01:29:17] Speaker A: We're gonna die. [01:29:17] Speaker B: Noir, would you. [01:29:20] Speaker A: Would you like to take us back into our story? [01:29:23] Speaker D: Yes. And so the camera zooms in into the bedroom, and we're going to take it back a few minutes. In the front room, Adelaide is putting together what the jar is and explaining it to the rest of the party. But Ruby has gone ahead into the bedroom to investigate what's going on. So you are essentially in a pretty barren bedroom. There's things strewn about, but other than that, there's not too terribly much. What would you like to do? [01:30:07] Speaker B: I'm going to take some pictures because that's my job. I was hoping. I mean, I know that we kind of gathered that the weird brain thing is where the radiation is coming from, but I was still hoping that we might find one of the missing people that we were looking for, or anybody else, for that matter. So I am on the lookout for, like, people or possibly bodies. I don't know. Oh, look under the bed, in the closet, wherever you might hide a person. [01:30:42] Speaker D: It's when you open the closet that I am going to need you to make me a dex check. Um, but it is unfortunately hard. [01:31:00] Speaker B: Please don't kill me. [01:31:02] Speaker D: I'm really gonna try not to. I really like Ruby. [01:31:05] Speaker B: I like Ruby, too. [01:31:09] Speaker C: Oh. [01:31:12] Speaker B: That'S a success. [01:31:13] Speaker C: Keeper roll 20 likes Ruby as well. [01:31:17] Speaker D: I'm very glad because, Ruby, as soon as you open the door, you see a skeleton pop out at you and it swings its skeletal hands in your direction. It's unfortunately going to swing again because it does get to attack twice. Shit. So I am going to go ahead now and get this set up for us. [01:32:04] Speaker B: Wow. This is awful. [01:32:06] Speaker A: Terrible, terrible. [01:32:08] Speaker E: The whole skeleton. [01:32:11] Speaker C: It'S coming for you. [01:32:14] Speaker D: All right, so here we go. He's going to swing now. [01:32:17] Speaker A: Oh, dear. [01:32:22] Speaker B: What does that mean? [01:32:23] Speaker D: So the first one swings and the second one, like you, you fall to the ground and it swings wildly at you and you hear coming from the other room. Very clever. And all of you hear Ruby fall to the ground and footsteps marching forward. Ruby? [01:32:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:32:50] Speaker D: What would you like to do? You are looking at an animated course just as walking skeleton. [01:32:58] Speaker A: Is. [01:32:58] Speaker B: It just literally bones. [01:33:00] Speaker D: It's. There's some skin left hanging on the bones, but not very much. It's mainly skeletal. No clothes on it, just bits of skin and bones. [01:33:28] Speaker B: I am trying so hard not to. [01:33:29] Speaker D: Be like, this is bones. [01:33:31] Speaker B: Cindy. Yeah. I can't. It's funny to me. No, that's awful. I'm gonna say, oh, hell. And I'm going to. I'm going to try to get away. [01:33:46] Speaker D: Okay. [01:33:48] Speaker B: To try to go. [01:33:50] Speaker D: All right. [01:33:51] Speaker B: And run away. [01:33:52] Speaker D: There's no attack of opportunity in Kalakathila, so you get up and start to run. You run into the other room. Would you like to do anything while you're in the other room? I'll give you one action. And then. Then we're going to roll to see who goes next. Okay. [01:34:12] Speaker B: I'm going to open the door because I'm going to leave very quickly. [01:34:17] Speaker D: I'm very glad that you said that you were going to do it. [01:34:22] Speaker B: Why? I'm scared there's going to be another skeleton. Outside the door. [01:34:29] Speaker D: No, I just. I just want you to know that I love you and I'm very sorry. So there is an invisible barrier from which you can't see, but when you try to reach for the door, it's just you just not able to get your hand on the door handle. Go ahead and roll me a power check. [01:35:09] Speaker B: Do I have to? [01:35:11] Speaker D: You do. [01:35:20] Speaker B: That's a good cry. It's a good cry. [01:35:23] Speaker D: Guys, the problem. The problem is that this is an opposed check. [01:35:34] Speaker B: That's not fair. Hey. Hey. That's not fair. I'm sorry. Hey, chat, you can't see this. This thing has a power. And I don't think that's fair, personally. I'm just gonna put that out there. I just think that's disgusting. [01:35:52] Speaker D: Dumb. [01:35:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I just think that's unfair. Hey, Noir. Noir, look at me. Listen. Look at me. I'm tiny. Please be gentle with me. [01:36:08] Speaker C: I think. I think. I think we are all in chat right now. We're all crazy out Noir right now. And none of us heard. None of us heard the word that they used, so it's fine. [01:36:19] Speaker B: I don't know what you're talking about. [01:36:21] Speaker C: I don't know what you're talking about. [01:36:24] Speaker D: Anyway. [01:36:25] Speaker C: Fuck are you talking about? What? [01:36:28] Speaker B: Anyway, I'm sorry. [01:36:32] Speaker C: You asked for a cast of melanated folk. We panic, it slips out. It's our professional. [01:36:49] Speaker B: I can't be here suddenly. I gotta go. [01:36:51] Speaker D: I can't. [01:36:51] Speaker B: I just had that. [01:36:52] Speaker A: I just had that thought. I'm sorry. [01:36:53] Speaker B: Anyway, so, um. [01:36:55] Speaker D: So you're unable to get out of the barrier. That's gonna be your action. Now we're going to. Now we're going to have everybody roll their dexterity to see who goes next. [01:37:12] Speaker A: Okay? [01:37:13] Speaker E: Okay. [01:37:15] Speaker B: Am I included in that? [01:37:16] Speaker D: Uh, no, you've already got your. [01:37:18] Speaker B: Okay. I was gonna say I just went so. [01:37:20] Speaker D: Mm hmm. Dozen and let me get theirs out of the way. I am so sorry, y'all. [01:37:45] Speaker B: Where? So just curious. What the hell? Okay, um, cool. [01:37:55] Speaker D: So now, uh, the brain is going to go next, right? Let's see what we're gonna do. [01:38:03] Speaker A: That's a sentence. The brain is gonna go next. [01:38:08] Speaker D: Oh. All right. So just so we're all awake, just so the viewers are also aware, this baddie has an ability. Has a couple of abilities that I'm a little squeamish on. One of them is dominate. So I. In accordance to the guidebook, I am going to have him cast this. However, if our players find themselves being uncomfortable at any point, just. Except that there might be a narrative change. That said, here we go. It is instantaneous. One magic point. Cool. Cool. One sanity point or composer point? I am going to need see. Who does he pick? According to the book? Yeah, that's. That's who it be. So, Dwayne, I'm going to need you to roll me a power check. [01:39:14] Speaker C: Gotcha, buddy. [01:39:15] Speaker D: And it's an opposed check. [01:39:17] Speaker B: Are you. That's cool, bro. That's. No. Hey, hey. Noir. [01:39:24] Speaker C: Joking. [01:39:26] Speaker B: That's not cool, bro. [01:39:27] Speaker C: Are you actually joking? [01:39:32] Speaker E: Oh, no, you don't. [01:39:34] Speaker B: Come. [01:39:34] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:39:39] Speaker A: Would you like to announce that for the announcement? [01:39:43] Speaker E: Let's let the people know. What you let the people know. [01:39:46] Speaker B: Jazz, you like us, right? [01:39:48] Speaker E: We're dope, and we appreciate all. [01:39:49] Speaker D: Thanks for watching. [01:39:50] Speaker E: I just them down. [01:39:52] Speaker B: I just wrote a critical success, which. [01:39:55] Speaker D: Means that I wrote a one on my D 100. Die. [01:39:59] Speaker C: Wow. [01:40:00] Speaker D: And it's an opposed check. So Dwayne would have to. In order to tie me roll one on a D 100 as well. [01:40:10] Speaker C: I didn't do that. I got a 16. Out of 100. Out of 60, actually. So I'm zip zap zapped. [01:40:24] Speaker D: So you just. So you just hear from a little speaker underneath the brain box, shoot the other, and you could tell from the impulse, from the control this magic has on you that he is instructing you to shoot JB. [01:40:51] Speaker C: Yep. [01:40:54] Speaker A: Wow. [01:40:54] Speaker B: I hate it here. I'm so sorry. [01:40:58] Speaker C: Hey, I go. I go last, I guess, because I fail my ducks. So do you think. [01:41:07] Speaker D: You know what? We'll rock with that. And so, after. After, uh, him. Oh, no, you. You act on his. Damn. [01:41:24] Speaker B: Damn it. Shit. [01:41:26] Speaker D: Fuck. Damn. All right. [01:41:29] Speaker C: Oh, man, this is gonna suck. Oh, fuck. [01:41:34] Speaker D: So you go ahead and roll your shot. Yeah, but, JB, you do get a dodge. You do get to roll dodge. So there is still a chance this. [01:41:47] Speaker E: Opposed, or I just. If I roll dodge and I'm gonna get. [01:41:51] Speaker C: I'm gonna close my eyes and do it. I'm gonna close my eyes and do it. I'm gonna close my eyes and do it. [01:41:55] Speaker D: Okay, so your dodge has to beat 40. [01:42:00] Speaker C: Okay? [01:42:01] Speaker D: It has to be under 40, or you will take this damage. [01:42:05] Speaker A: Oh, come on, bud. [01:42:09] Speaker B: I'm so sorry. [01:42:12] Speaker C: I hate this. [01:42:14] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [01:42:15] Speaker D: I hate this so much. [01:42:21] Speaker A: Come on. Come on. [01:42:22] Speaker C: Oh. [01:42:23] Speaker B: Oh, wow. [01:42:24] Speaker D: Oh. Oh, buddy. [01:42:27] Speaker B: Okay. [01:42:30] Speaker D: All right, all right. So with. So with. Oh, man. With the shotgun, the damage that it does is, I do believe, one d six. That's because it's just a normal success. [01:42:52] Speaker C: Right? So I'm rolling it. [01:42:56] Speaker D: Mm hmm. Four points of damage. How we looking. [01:43:13] Speaker E: Uh, bloody. [01:43:14] Speaker B: Okay. [01:43:17] Speaker C: I mean, I was my. That was my one shell. [01:43:21] Speaker D: Now that shotgun is empty. [01:43:24] Speaker E: Yes. [01:43:25] Speaker D: All right. So after. After the brain comes. Oh, Adelaide, you are next. [01:43:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. Okay. Well, keeper, since. Since there's apparently a little nugget of this knowledge in my brain about what this is and what it can do, would I know enough to destroy it? [01:44:01] Speaker D: You know that these migo carriers are extraordinarily resilient. However, they can be broken through consistent damage, like, um, drilling or explosives. Like, do the trick. [01:44:28] Speaker A: Explosives? [01:44:30] Speaker D: I said what I said. [01:44:36] Speaker A: Okay. I don't know if this is feasible. [01:44:41] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [01:44:42] Speaker A: But the vibe is we have a grenade. [01:44:47] Speaker D: Uh huh. [01:44:50] Speaker A: I would like to take said grenade. [01:44:54] Speaker D: Uh huh. [01:44:57] Speaker A: Take. What's the best way to do this? I don't know if there's best way to do this. I need to affix the grenade to the brain and yeet the brain out the window. [01:45:11] Speaker D: So Dwayne has his toolbox. I will allow you to roll luck to see if there's anything like tape or glue. But it will take you an action to stick thicker. Date on to the brain. [01:45:34] Speaker B: Okay. [01:45:43] Speaker D: I got all. [01:45:45] Speaker A: Nope, that's a failure. [01:45:47] Speaker D: You do have luck. [01:45:49] Speaker E: I don't think you can spend luck on luck. [01:45:51] Speaker B: Can you use luck on a luck check? [01:45:52] Speaker D: Oh, wait. I don't think you can. [01:45:54] Speaker A: No, I don't think you can. Okay. All right. Okay. All right. [01:46:01] Speaker B: This is so stressful. [01:46:02] Speaker A: This is very stressful. Okay. So there's no. There's nothing in the toolbox? [01:46:08] Speaker D: Nope. But you do see the grenade in there. [01:46:14] Speaker A: Okay. Is there. Is there a throw rug or a blanket or something? [01:46:26] Speaker D: The room is barren. I will say there's probably. There is a sheet in the bedroom. But to run into the bedroom, you would then be running into the skeleton. [01:46:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:46:41] Speaker A: No, that's fair. That's fair. Okay. [01:46:42] Speaker B: Okay. [01:46:43] Speaker A: Okay. [01:46:43] Speaker B: Okay. [01:46:44] Speaker A: Okay. Shit. This is also. Laura doesn't entirely know how bad a grenade explosion would be, so I am hesitant to throw it, like, in the room, but if that's what we're gonna do, that's what we're gonna do. [01:47:07] Speaker C: Well, it is a dud. [01:47:11] Speaker D: The trap was a dud. [01:47:13] Speaker C: Trap was done. Renee does still a. [01:47:15] Speaker D: Okay. [01:47:17] Speaker A: Yep. Is there. Is there a. Is there a closet? [01:47:26] Speaker D: So there is this room. The bedroom and the closet in the bedroom. [01:47:32] Speaker B: Fuck. [01:47:35] Speaker A: No. [01:47:35] Speaker E: No. [01:47:36] Speaker A: Okay. [01:47:38] Speaker C: And you would have seen. You would have seen Ruby, like, bounce off of a thing. [01:47:44] Speaker B: Oh. [01:47:44] Speaker D: Ruby made it very clear that there was something in the other room. [01:47:49] Speaker A: Can I take the brain, eat it into the opposite corner? Like, of the room and, I don't know, fucking eat the grain, bounce it. [01:47:59] Speaker B: Off its own barrier. I don't think you could do that. [01:48:05] Speaker D: But you're attempting to pick up the brain. [01:48:08] Speaker A: Oh, no. Oh, God. [01:48:11] Speaker E: Come on. [01:48:12] Speaker B: Why do you say like that? Okay. Why say like that? Should I kick it? [01:48:16] Speaker D: Am I not supposed to? No, I'm. Hey, you. We rock it with whatever you want to do here. Uh, so you're picking up. You're picking up the jar and throwing it. [01:48:26] Speaker A: Sure. [01:48:28] Speaker D: Okay. Um, go ahead. Just give me a basic strength check. [01:48:33] Speaker A: Oh, nope, I don't pick up shit. [01:48:44] Speaker D: Um, no, you pick it up. You just. You try to toss it, and it doesn't go very far. [01:48:50] Speaker A: Oh, God. [01:48:51] Speaker D: It's. It's like it almost slips out of your grasp. [01:48:54] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. [01:48:55] Speaker D: And you just hear it go. Really? [01:48:59] Speaker B: Shut up. [01:49:01] Speaker A: This is very undignified. [01:49:03] Speaker B: Um, Ruby, get out of the bedroom. I'm not in the bedroom. Any. Am I in the bedroom? No, I'm by the door. [01:49:10] Speaker D: She scampered into the same room as y'all. [01:49:12] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:49:12] Speaker B: Okay. [01:49:13] Speaker A: I missed that part. Okay, sure. Then I. Yeah. Can we play football and get this thing into the bedroom, then? That was my mistake, because I thought Ruby had, like, fallen to the ground in the bedroom. [01:49:24] Speaker C: Yeah, they're in the room with us. [01:49:26] Speaker D: So picking up a. Dropping the jar is going to be your action, which is going to bring us to our next, uh, our next player, which is going to be JB. [01:49:42] Speaker E: Where did I get shot? [01:49:45] Speaker D: You know what? I'm going to let you have control of the narrative here. [01:49:50] Speaker E: Okay. [01:49:57] Speaker D: It is a shotgun, though, and it is close quarters. [01:50:01] Speaker E: Oh, I'm aware, but that's. That's a problem. Getting close quarters with the shotgun in any way, shape or form is. [01:50:10] Speaker D: It's gonna suck all the way around. [01:50:11] Speaker C: It's gonna suck. [01:50:16] Speaker E: Do I want to. Do I want to make myself sad? Or do I. [01:50:24] Speaker D: Stay right? [01:50:27] Speaker E: Like, part of me wants to make people sad right now. [01:50:32] Speaker D: Do we do it for the field? [01:50:34] Speaker B: Do it. [01:50:36] Speaker E: You definitely caught me in my arms, like, right in the shop. [01:50:42] Speaker C: I figured. [01:50:43] Speaker E: I figured you didn't hit me. Like, Acley probably would have been. That would need the. I have still. I feel it. So I can still utilize, like, things, but maneuvering, like, it would have gotten, like, the joint. [01:50:59] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:50:59] Speaker E: The right shoulder. [01:51:01] Speaker C: You like? [01:51:01] Speaker E: Yeah. So you aim and, like, it should have hit me in my chest. [01:51:06] Speaker C: Mm hmm. [01:51:07] Speaker E: But I'm guessing I was like, no, hit the shoulder. [01:51:11] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:51:12] Speaker E: So I'm guessing this is using the shotgun slugs, I'm guessing. [01:51:19] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:51:20] Speaker E: Yeah, that shoulder is pretty toasty. [01:51:23] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:51:27] Speaker E: And is Dwayne coming back to. For his turn? Like, on his next turn, would he still be, like. [01:51:39] Speaker D: There's no way for you to tell that. Yeah. [01:51:44] Speaker E: Um. [01:51:46] Speaker B: Yeah, but you do know that he only had one shot now. [01:51:52] Speaker C: And you do know that there's a skeleton, like, next to you. [01:51:56] Speaker E: Yeah, I. [01:51:58] Speaker C: In the primo floor. [01:52:05] Speaker E: There'S a. Anyone who's looking at me sees the panic of the situation, but there's another panic happening. Like, that's, like, overriding that panic, and. Oh, that's. [01:52:29] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. [01:52:30] Speaker E: That's real bad. JB, grab the shotgun. I. The shotgun. Cock it. [01:52:42] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [01:52:43] Speaker E: Bring it down to. Where could I. Some. Go back. And I'm going to fire at the rain. [01:52:53] Speaker D: Okay, go ahead and roll me your shotgun. I'm on the edge of my seat right now. [01:53:06] Speaker B: Oh, Michael. [01:53:09] Speaker E: The ladies and gentlemen, the dice are not my favorite girl. [01:53:14] Speaker D: The 91. You're doing your best, but the searing pain in your shoulder throws you off the moment you pull the trigger. [01:53:28] Speaker E: It's kind of hard to utilize all your tendons when there's a chunk missing. [01:53:35] Speaker D: And you just hear from that small speaker. Come and finish this one. It is already wounded. And you hear the steps from the bedroom almost respond, responding to the call. And that's going to bring us to Dwayne's turn. Dwayne, it was almost like a daydream. It was almost like your mind was somewhere else. And then suddenly there's a painful clarity as to what happened in the last few seconds. And you still feel your finger gripped on the trigger of a shotgun. And you see red spreading through the white shirt on JB. And you know that it is the shell from your shotgun that has wounded your friend. [01:54:54] Speaker C: It's so I heard. I. Did I hear a voice talk to me before that. Like they hear the voice of the brain talk to me a second before I shot him. [01:55:05] Speaker D: And then it wasn't so much a voice as much as it was an impulse. But I will give you either occult, natural world, or Cthulhu Mythos to roll right now. [01:55:27] Speaker C: Oh, okay. I mean, natural world's my best one. I don't expect I'll succeed. This is a fucking ten. So, no, I didn't succeed that. [01:55:39] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:55:40] Speaker C: Yeah. But I. I feel like. I feel like just. Just being in that daze, realizing shit went wrong, realizing that there's no other answer except for the fucking brain of why that happened. Do I see the skeleton man? [01:56:01] Speaker D: Uh, you do see it looming in the bedroom, and you snapped out of it just enough to hear the brain give the command to the skeleton to finish. [01:56:12] Speaker C: JB, I'm gonna take the shotgun. Empty shotgun I have. And I'm using it as a bat to block, get in the way of this thing and smash it. [01:56:26] Speaker D: Okay. We're gonna treat this as just a brawl check. And I'm gonna say that the shotgun, as a blunt weapon will deal one d four damage. [01:56:37] Speaker C: Cool. [01:56:39] Speaker D: Depending on your degree of success, of course. [01:56:41] Speaker C: Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. Understood. [01:56:48] Speaker D: Cool. So remember, I said depending on your degree of success, you just rolled a hard success. So I'm going to turn this one d four into a d eight. [01:57:05] Speaker C: Oh, that. [01:57:10] Speaker E: Fucking. [01:57:11] Speaker C: I hate that. Hate that. But it's a four, so it would. [01:57:14] Speaker B: Have been max if you had a d four. [01:57:16] Speaker A: So it's. [01:57:16] Speaker D: Yeah, terrible. [01:57:17] Speaker C: Not terrible. [01:57:22] Speaker D: I'm also. Because of hard success, I will allow you one more brawl check. To swing additional momentum. I'll do it again. Yeah. All right, that's a gotcha. [01:57:35] Speaker C: That's a one. [01:57:36] Speaker D: Okay. Um, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. Um, you crack this thing in its collarbone. And, you see, the collarbone cracks under the weight of it, so much so that you have to pull the shotgun out, and pieces of bone come out, and you swing again, and ribs break, but it's still advancing. You can tell that this thing does not feel pain. Okay, let me mark that down. Okay. All right, so that is your turn. Which brings us back to the top of the round, and it is now the skeleton's turn, is it not? [01:58:36] Speaker B: My turn. The skeleton went first. [01:58:39] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:58:39] Speaker B: So I go after the skeleton. [01:58:40] Speaker C: Yep. [01:58:42] Speaker D: So the skeleton is going to swing at you, Dwayne. [01:58:51] Speaker C: Gotcha. [01:58:53] Speaker D: All right, so go ahead and roll me a dodge. [01:58:56] Speaker C: I can do that. [01:58:57] Speaker D: You have to beat 61. [01:59:01] Speaker C: I had to beat 61. [01:59:02] Speaker B: Okay. [01:59:03] Speaker C: Gotcha. No. Well, no. [01:59:09] Speaker D: Oh, it would have to be a success. [01:59:11] Speaker E: And. [01:59:12] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [01:59:12] Speaker D: Okay. And it's going to swing again because it does get to attack twice. [01:59:20] Speaker C: Do I do another dodge? [01:59:21] Speaker D: Mm hmm. So the first one is a d six. [01:59:29] Speaker C: Yep. [01:59:30] Speaker D: And the second one is a d four. [01:59:34] Speaker B: Ew. [01:59:41] Speaker D: So you just see this skeleton for a total of six damage. [01:59:49] Speaker C: Yeah. Cool. [01:59:53] Speaker D: Okay, doki, you all can see that Dwayne has just been hit hard. Things are looking dire. Ruby, it is your turn. What would you like to do? [02:00:14] Speaker B: So I wasn't. I wasn't present, really, when Addie gave her explanation. Was I in a, like, near enough. Like, it's like one room next. It's like the bedroom next to the. You know, the living room. Or whatever you want to call it. Was I. Was I close enough to hear the explanation? [02:00:35] Speaker D: I will allow you to roll a listen on hard because you were focusing on photography. [02:00:44] Speaker B: Something else. Let's focusing on something else. Listen. [02:00:50] Speaker D: Mm hmm. No, I'm sorry. [02:00:54] Speaker B: That's okay. So, I had two ideas, but I don't think that. I think that only. I'm gonna have to go with the first one that I had. So, going off of the knowledge that she has that this thing has a speaker on it and seems to be communicating with the skeleton, I want to break the speaker. Is there anything I can use as a weapon, a blunt force weapon I could use to break the crap out of that speaker? [02:01:28] Speaker D: Really? The only thing in here is a dresser, a radio, and then there's the bedroom, so there's not much. [02:01:41] Speaker B: Did I see anything that might work in the bedroom while I was in there? [02:01:46] Speaker D: Um, there's a bed, so there's a post that you can rip from the bed frame. [02:01:52] Speaker B: Boy. Okay. [02:02:00] Speaker D: You also saw JB try to shoot a shotgun, but he's having difficulty with the wound on his arm. [02:02:08] Speaker B: Yeah, I. I am quite afraid of it. [02:02:16] Speaker A: Yes. [02:02:17] Speaker B: Oh, man. Not a lot of things to do. Okay, I'm going to. Yes. The only plan I got right now. So I am going to go run into the bedroom and see if I can grab a post. I'll do one of those, you know, call it heel kits. Break it. I don't know how many actions that'll take, but however I can get over. [02:02:48] Speaker D: It, the move is free, but breaking the post is your action. [02:02:51] Speaker B: Okay, sounds good. I will break the post, and I will be ready. My. My next action to. [02:02:58] Speaker D: I'm gonna give you a strength check. Uh, it's gonna be regular, and I will give you a bonus because of the adrenaline. [02:03:06] Speaker B: Nice. [02:03:09] Speaker D: That's the best I can do. [02:03:11] Speaker B: Thanks. I appreciate that. I'm not very strong. Oh, I'm not. Not strong. Wow. Oh, boy. Okay. Nope. [02:03:23] Speaker D: Oh, well, 35. Yeah. All right, so you're able to just break the post. Now you have a blunt weapon. Cool. That. That'll be for next time. And that's going to bring us to the brain. All right, y'all. [02:03:52] Speaker B: Let'S see. [02:03:53] Speaker D: Let's see what'll be. What do we want to do? Um, honestly, Adelaide, you're kind of threat. You've just dropped them on the floor. Mm hmm. Oh, JB, I'm gonna need you to make it a post power check. But I am going to give you a bonus because your target is your cousin. [02:04:21] Speaker E: All right. [02:04:27] Speaker D: I believe you. [02:04:28] Speaker C: This is. [02:04:32] Speaker B: So you hard success. [02:04:34] Speaker D: Everything goes white, and you start to daydream, and you feel this impulse. Shoot. Adelaide, tell me how you resist this command. Every cell in your body wants to do this, but it is only your will that stops you. [02:05:03] Speaker E: My body is in a lot of pain, and everyone's focusing on the threats that are active. I am in pain and bleeding on the ground. This thing that would say, shoot a person. Okay, who? Cousin. And then I think on who my cousin is, and my cousin's the. Probably the first person that ever heard me play and said I was good. She then said I sucked, but she said I was good. And I just replay, when we were younger, her listening to me play and not telling me to stop. She would tell me I sucked every time, but she would never tell me to stop playing. And I can't do it. It's not a. It's one of those things where it's like, oh, no, that's not the person. You can't mean that person. This. This doesn't compute. There's no reason I can do that. I cannot follow that plan. [02:06:37] Speaker D: Adelaide, from your perspective, you see all the color drain from JD's eyes, it's just milky white. And you can tell there's no thought in the action. The body doesn't even move as if it's in pain any longer. As the gun points in your direction and you can see the trigger fingers start to tense. And in that moment where you're certain that the trigger will be pulled in an instant, you see your cousin regain himself. JB, what is the one word that you're able to say as you're able to take back your body? [02:07:30] Speaker E: That's a good question. And there would definitely be the sad side. Tear, fall. I forget which. [02:07:50] Speaker B: That's the man tear. [02:07:52] Speaker E: No, this would be, like, an actual sad, sadness tear. I forget what side of the tear duct it is. What side of the eye is the. [02:08:02] Speaker D: I think it's the inside that's the sad one, because that's the one that's about to drop from my eyes. Um, okay, and so, Adelaide, from your perspective, you see the absolute refusal to hurt you and empower him to stop. The control that you just saw take over Dwayne. And with that, it is now your turn. [02:08:36] Speaker B: Okay. [02:08:37] Speaker A: Um, so throwing doesn't work, obviously. Is there any way for me to kick this thing into the other room and throw the grenade in behind it? [02:08:59] Speaker D: I'm going to say, because of that moment between you and JV, there's not really inspiration. So I'm gonna give you a bonus to whatever your next action is. [02:09:11] Speaker A: Okay. [02:09:13] Speaker D: Now, if you're trying to kick this thing into the room, I'm going to say that that is going to be a strength check to successfully kick it, and then a luck check to see if it goes where you're at, Amy. And then it's gonna be a whole other action to throw the grenade. [02:09:37] Speaker A: Yep. Hard success. [02:09:48] Speaker D: Because it's a hard success, I'm gonna give you the momentum to have another action, but we have to see if it's going where you're aiming it. So you've got the strength, the kick. It's good. It's simply flying. Now we need a luck check. [02:10:14] Speaker B: That's an extreme success. [02:10:20] Speaker D: Okay, it goes. Not only does it go into the bedroom, but it goes over Dwayne's head and knocks the skeleton back deeper into the bedroom. I am now going to give you the chance to throw the grenade. [02:10:42] Speaker A: Okay, here's the thing. I don't want to yeet it. I want to march up, like, get it in there and shut the fucking door in there. [02:10:53] Speaker B: I left, right? [02:10:54] Speaker D: Yeah, you're not in there anymore. [02:10:55] Speaker B: That sounds good to me. [02:10:58] Speaker D: Yeah, I'll like. [02:10:59] Speaker A: Oh, I'll softball roll that thing if I have to. [02:11:03] Speaker B: I'm going to. [02:11:04] Speaker D: I'm gonna let this happen. [02:11:06] Speaker B: Um. Shit. [02:11:08] Speaker D: You push Dwayne aside, you throw the grenade, and you slam the door closed. [02:11:14] Speaker B: Fire in the hall. [02:11:15] Speaker D: Run now. Let me. Let me roll. I gotta. I gotta do some. I gotta do some rolls. [02:11:23] Speaker A: I wanted and I want to drag everybody to the opposite end of the. [02:11:27] Speaker C: Fucking room just as far as possible. [02:11:29] Speaker D: Yep. [02:11:30] Speaker B: I will agree with that. [02:11:31] Speaker C: With as much as possible in the way. [02:11:32] Speaker A: Mm hmm. [02:11:34] Speaker D: I'm. [02:11:34] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm gonna, like, get Dwayne's help to get Ruby over. I'm gonna drag JB over, and I'm going to physically cover him with my body. [02:11:44] Speaker D: So you throw the grenade in the other room, you move everybody to the side, you kiss here. And everybody roll. Luck. Oh, fuck. [02:11:58] Speaker A: Oh, God. [02:12:00] Speaker B: Nope. [02:12:06] Speaker A: That'S fine. I was covering because with my body. [02:12:16] Speaker D: So the explosion goes off and everything is fine. But then you look at Adelaide, and Adelaide. You got hit with shrapnel that dealt you four points of damage. [02:12:34] Speaker A: I. Yeah, bloodied, but okay. [02:12:40] Speaker D: You all would have killed me. Into the other room. And there is an obliterated skeleton, and you see nutrient fluid all over the walls, and pieces of braids decorate the apartment. [02:13:12] Speaker B: I take a photo. [02:13:16] Speaker D: And that is where we're going to end today's session, dude. [02:13:27] Speaker A: Like, we fucked around. [02:13:29] Speaker B: I didn't think. I didn't know what was gonna happen. [02:13:33] Speaker D: I was. Oof. [02:13:34] Speaker B: Yay. Fucked around. [02:13:36] Speaker A: Fucked around and found out. [02:13:37] Speaker D: Fucked around and found out. [02:13:38] Speaker A: Oh, God. Oh, Lord. [02:13:40] Speaker C: Oh, my God. I can't believe I shot. This shit sucks. [02:13:47] Speaker D: I can't believe JB made that power check. [02:13:50] Speaker C: I'm so happy. I'm so happy. [02:13:52] Speaker D: Oh, they're beautiful. [02:13:53] Speaker A: They're so delicious. [02:13:54] Speaker D: Oh, my God. [02:13:55] Speaker C: Narratively, no. [02:13:58] Speaker A: Okay. Foes, fiends, thank you for watching us all panic for the past two and a half hours. Like, honestly, it's either the cops or the elder brain. So, like, you know, I'll take the brain, honestly.
